Dear Stuy Town Reporter.. please publish Rick Hayduk's latest letter about "being a good neighbor" and the rules around carpeting and another noise related issues. And ask why their advertising shows a little carpet under the coffee table, instead of the 80% required? And then, ask him why the hockey bombs are still allowed to go on. It's 9:30 AM and those 2 or 3 man-boys are out there slap shotting their hockey bombs... Gosh, are they good neighbors? So Rick talks out of 1 side of his mouth and acts out of the other... and he's only been on the job a couple of weeks. Hey Rick - we know same old, same old.

Shame om them all. The trees were giving us clean air, breezes, shade, containing, cleaning contamination, they give us life and shelter.

This book is for every child and adult.

“The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate — Discoveries From a Secret World,”

PRESENTING scientific research and his own observations in highly anthropomorphic terms, the matter-of-fact Mr. Wohlleben has delighted readers and talk-show audiences alike with the news — long known to biologists — that trees in the forest are social beings. They can count, learn and remember; nurse sick neighbors; warn each other of danger by sending electrical signals across a fungal network known as the “Wood Wide Web”; and, for reasons unknown, keep the ancient stumps of long-felled companions alive for centuries by feeding them a sugar solution through their roots.

I assure you that in 20-25 years or so, after Blackstone and its greedy cohorts have razed Stuyvesant Town and put up massive luxury condos and 50-story commercial buildings, you will see nostalgic pictures of our present day buildings. We then can all wax poetic about the good old days when real, normal people lived in Manhattan. Nostalgia rocks. Laugh but my money says that this place won't exist in a couple of decades. They eagerly await our demise one by one. But, hey, you avaricious motherfu*kers, hopefully I won't croak too soon...lol.
Rest assured the same afternoon that they cart my carcass out the door, they'll start the phony renovations and have the painters in prepping the apartment for the NYU bros. A one-bedroom for only $8,000...what a deal!
Keep the sense of humor all.
It's the best defense in this life.

What did Garodnick do this time?

Anyone who has family with children with disabilities needs to read the New York Times today it horrifies. The De Blasio administration response to families with children of disabilities is as long as we accommodate you anywhere in the city NY is in compliance with the American disabilities Act. The American Disabilities Act is not meant to be a geographical perspective where complying with the law anywhere geographically satisfies meeting every American citizen's special needs.
The law applies to the individual citizen's perspective that their needs are met the same as their neighbors of kids without disabilities. The administration just admitted they are deliberately giving families of children with disabilities a lesser quality of life then families without. Some in this administration have no humanity.

Inbred Incumbents, all of them are corrupt. Spill, what is it to add to the long list of what Dan Garodnick has done to this community.

Bill DeBlasio is no progressive either, no advocate for people and small businesses too. The nerve he has pushing "immoral Wall Street" establishment Clintons (who got us all into the housing mess in the first place) and Clinton's wife in Iowa this weekend.

http://nypost.com/2015/11/17/clinton-fundraiser-held-next-door-to-jeffrey-epsteins-house/

Hillary Clinton might not have been thrilled with the site of her Wednesday night fundraiser — next door to hubby Bill’s old buddy, Jeffrey Epstein.

The event was at the home of Cantor Fitzgerald’s Howard Lutnick and closed to press.

But a spy pointed out the location may have been “too close for comfort” as “Howard’s enormous townhouse touches Epstein’s even larger townhouse.”

Bubba’s past flights on private planes owned by convicted sex offender Epstein have been a perennial thorn for the Clintons.

RNC chairman Reince Priebus wondered this year, “I’d like to know what he was doing with [Epstein], how many trips did he take, where was he going, what did he do when he was with this guy?”

So right 9 29 am. Rick, how bout you post some notices around the actuaaaaaaal property instead of hiding behind emails that no one opens?

Grow a pair.

I don't see how Garodnick screwed it all up. He wasn't even born when most of the changes took place and he wasn't our Councilman at the time when MetLife under the Evil Benmoshe started to trash the property. I don't think he was even our Councilman at the time when TS took over. True, he never did anything to help with saving the beauty of the property and he certainly kidnapped the so-called Tenants Association to help him with the Brookfield land grab he wanted so badly, but he's only been around for a few years and can't be blamed for what happened before his arrival on the scene.

Those old black and white photos are ok for waxing nostalgic, but there was an awful lot of disease, poverty, child and animal abuse back in those days that just went on and was accepted as normal. I'm glad we have come a long way since then.

These incumbents have no interest in doing the job for which they were elected, to better the quality of life for constituents. All they care about is money and their own political advancement which is why quality of life is not only on a sharp decline, it is in the crapper. It is why they get a grade F and do not care they are failing. NY is becoming a generic city. Welcome to the Christie Cuomo blueprint

Is this a riddle? What now, did Dan Garodnick screw up on top of everything else he has screwed up for us?

We find it odd and interesting that the landlord here buys furniture, charges for a/c, charges for new lights, MCI for intercom (we did not need nor want) this and that, but won't install carpets with padding.

I'm sure there is a motive on their part. They think we're stupid.

Goldman Sachs, for example, ranks dead last for reputation, and is the second largest corporate donor to Hillary Clinton. Her top corporate donor, Citigroup, ranks 89th out of 100. Her fourth largest donor, JP Morgan Chase, came in 87th. Other Clinton donors making the list of companies held in poor esteem by the public include Time Warner (85/100) and 21st Century Fox (65/100). Collectively these companies have given more than $2.8 million to Clinton’s campaigns.

Off topic but in T&V today is a political real estate push for the Ferry that is obviously not for StuyTown residents but is for the new stabilizer type of resident resort they will turn this into, or as they say "Active Community". The Ferry is not for us, who are working class and want to come home to peace and quiet homes at the end of the day. The Ferry is for parties and happy hour cruises and the Ferry stops are obviously not designed for working people. We are done with T&V.

Let's hope the excessively, unreasonably high real market crashes before this atrocity comes to this community; Residence Hotel Living for the World's wealthiest transients, at only $75,000,000.00 is is a bargain for 10 bathrooms! Transients are transients no matter how much money they have. NYC is overrun by transients and empty luxury apartments.

If politicians had any shred of ethics or moral decency they would pass better laws about length of time of occupancy so the laws are used to enforce and protect permanent residents instead of used to enable transients, dorms, hotel living for a vulgar class of rich travelers to club-party hop from event to event around the world.

Hillary Clinton Denounces Corporate Crime While Accepting Cash From Blackstone, Firm Sanctioned By SEC
BY DAVID SIROTA @DAVIDSIROTA AND ANDREW PEREZ @ANDREWPEREZDC ON 12/16/15 AT 11:22 AM

Joke is on us PCVST Tenants. What was Clinton/Schumer's role in Glen/DeBlasio PCVST deal?

Hillary and "one of the country’s biggest shadow bank" Blackstone / As a one of the biggest players in both shadow banking and private-equity investments, Blackstone has a significant interest in the outcome of the presidential election.

Payback? Groveling in Iowa?

"Hillary Clinton is traveling the country, promising to get tough on corporate wrongdoers and “shadow banks.” But as she promises to crack down on investment firms that offer banking services outside the purview of traditional financial regulations, her presidential campaign is vacuuming in cash from executives at Wall Street firm known as one of the country’s biggest shadow banks — one recently fined by federal regulators for allegedly ripping off its clients.

Last week, president of Blackstone Group, Tony James, hosted fundraiser for Clinton. cash flowed to Clinton campaign just 2 months after private-equity giant settled with SEC over charges it used so-called monitoring fees to enrich the firm at expense of investors.

Clinton accepted money from executives at sanctioned firm as she criticized Obama administration for not punishing perpetrators of financial crime more strenuously.

investors in Blackstone funds harmed by scheme were major public pension systems in California, Florida and NJ, which hold retirement savings of TEACHERS, POLICE OFFICERS, FIREFIGHTERS

In all, municipal and state pension systems have committed at least $9.7 billion worth of investments in three Blackstone funds SEC says were hit, according to research firm Preqin. (A top Blackstone executive said in 2010 public employees enjoyed retirement benefits that are “too generous.”)

Spokespeople for Clinton and Blackstone did not respond to International Business Times questions about its executives’ support for Clinton or SEC case.

Clinton has ties to key players in Blackstone entities targeted by SEC. One specific Blackstone investment funds involved in scheme, SEC documents say, was run by executives James and Laurence Tosi. Just two weeks after SEC settlement, James — a high-profile defender of shadow banking — touted support for Clinton.

Two months later, Clinton continued to portray herself as crusader against corporate crime, James headlined $33,000-a-person fundraiser at his home, according to WSJ. James is expected to host another fundraiser early 2016.

James has been a featured attendee participant at events hosted by Clinton family foundation. Both James and Tosi made maximum contributions to Clinton’s presidential campaign

“The SEC fines seem like less than a slap on the wrist for one of biggest companies in industry that has been gouging pensions,” pension consultant Chris Tobe said.

“BLACKSTONE HAS 20 DIFFERENT WAYS IT SIPHONS FEES FROM INVESTORS — this is just one of them, and regulators barely punished them.” A new study by Oxford University researchers concluded private-equity firms charged $20 billion in hidden fees over past 2 decades.

THEY SIPHON FROM THEIR OWN CLIENTS ALSO TEACHERS POLICE AND FIREFIGHTERS JUST IMAGINE HOW MANY WAYS THEY WILL SIPHON FEES FROM PCVST RENT STABILIZED TENANTS AND DON'T COUNT ON HILLARY'S 100 POLITICIAN LAWMAKER SUPPORTERS TO PROTECT TENANTS RIGHTS IN PCVST!!!

Clinton is not the only 2016 candidate benefiting from Blackstone’s interest in the outcome of financial regulatory policies and enforcement decisions. A super PAC created by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush received $100,000 from Blackstone’s CEO, Stephen Schwarzman, who is listed as an officer for one of the funds included in the SEC settlement."

LOL. That last line was a JOKE!

Stuy Town Reporter said...

BTW, I let through some political comments that touch on the national scene, but I feel I have to clamp down on them in the future. It's going to a rough ride this election year, and unless the comment has to do with our city politics, I think we are going to get sidetracked with resultant flamewars.

Anonymous said...

???? Is this the big news you had on why Garodnick should never be in any office? You were joking?

Stuy Town Reporter said...

This has nothing to do with my upcoming post on Garodnick. Don't know when that will be uploaded, but I hope to do it in the next two weeks.

Anonymous said...

I think the national politics comments are relevant to us because our landlord is Blackstone and the commentator says Blackstone has a big need for favoritism from Clinton (or Bush). Blackstone can do whatever they want to us and the New York AG and the Federal AG will let them.

If You Don't Like De Blasio, Run Against Him: An Open Letter to Andrew Cuomo

So it was a joke! I think we are too weary and pissed-off to be able to "get" the joke, STR. That was too subtle for some of us!

There is no doubt Garodnick would have evicted 85% for Brookfield if de Blasio had not stepped in to change the deal. de Blasio may have saved some of us sort of.

6:25 De Blasio probably saved himself. We are nothing more than pawns in their real estate games. They want us out.

Bloomberg, Cuomo, Schneiderman, Kane, Schumer, Bratton-Kelly want the tenants out of here for REBNY plans for the land but none of them want the public relations nightmare that it happened on their watch. Kathryn Wilde said as much in the press.

De Blasio would have been a fall guy for Bloomberg, Cuomo, Schneiderman, Kane, Bratton if CW Tishman Speyer Brookfield went forward with their development plans. They do not care about us because we are not wealthy and because we are not wealthy we are in their way.

Politicians care about their public relations images and money as Keith Wright showed us all when he pulled the plug on the CW lawsuit. Kathryn Wilde said Stuyvesant Town is public relations nightmare because those who are in office during the destruction of the community have that on their record. The Tenant Association was supposed to keep us quiet while they push Berlin Rosen's Politically supported REBNY agenda to evict 85% of the residents and it would have fallen on De Blasio's watch. He was saving his own political image and this time saving our homes in the process, accidentally.

Schneiderman, Schumer Cuomo are all about the "show". The show and tell to the people while they do the opposite in behind closed doors deals. Cuomo's State of the State show was all about "his" big development plans to make him look good as if he is doing it for the people but he has no way to back it up financially and the press called him out on who really benefits from his development plans and it is not New York taxpayers.

The incumbents are all show no substance. There has not been one positive result for the Middle Class by any of the incumbents. Not one. Everything incumbents do is to benefit the wealthiest New Yorkers businesses and the images of the politicians.

The fate of constituents are in the hands of their political image. Whatever is good for their image they do. Thus making sure the community does not technically get wiped out on their watch.

And thus Gale Brewer's meaningless small business law and Dan Garodnick's meaningless "inspection" laws which by the by, the way landlords here use the inspections violates our constitutional rights but Dan Garodnick is pushing the REBNY agenda so instead of stopping the illegal searches he says he is passing laws to give tenants more of a heads-up on illegal searches.

REBNY is wrong when they claim the small business act violates their constitutional rights but Dan Garodnick uses that excuse to push their agenda and not the laws to protect the constitutional rights of tenants and small businesses. It is "our" constitutional rights that are being violated by landlords, REBNY and politicians so REBNY flips that to make it look like it is their constitutional rights being violated to displace that they are violating ours and the Dan Garodnicks are all too happy to try to trick the public with REBNY's claim of their constitutional rights. But he got called out on that too.

Garodnick is wrong for PCVST, wrong for political office, and right for working in a place like Paul Weiss Rifkind. He is perfectly suited for their agenda and ethics and the old way of New York politics before Preet Bharara. Even Preet stopped short probably for political reasons. Too bad, a lot of good could have been done if Preet cleaned City Council like he started to clean the Senate and Assembly.

I am very disappointed in Garodnick and extremely disappointed in Preet Bharara. All politicians and lawyers SUCK!!!!
