AN OFFER: PAY ME ONE DOLLAR FOR EVERY INFRACTION THAT I SEE--A UNCOVERED MATTRESS ON THE LOOP, DOG DO-DO NOT PICKED UP, OUTSIDE DOGS BEING WALKED INTO ST OR PCV. ONE DOLLAR FOR ONE PHOTO. I KNOW MANAGEMENT READS THIS BLOG, SO ACCEPT MY OFFER. BLACKSTONE WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER.

As we see, nothing much is being done about the many complaints residents have: the discarded furniture on the loops, including the illegal discarding of uncovered mattress; the outside dogs that are infrequently checked for that blue ST lanyard, and their owners escorted out if they don't have one; the lack of R7-2 clarity from our local politicians who seem to be delaying and delaying; the club cars that go this way and that, and many times against regular traffic rules; the failure of our TA to even address those issues, etc. On top of that, residents near the building of the subway extension on 14 Street have had to endure noise and health issues at all hours of the day and night. This is not the way to live. Because of these facts, and a few more, a new representation has to happen. This is where Stuyvesant Town Tenants Advocacy comes in. There are no dues, and plans are underway to get the group doing something proactive about our complaints. The time for submitting our complaints to Management, Public Safety and Blackstone is over.

All comments to posts have to await approval. Approval does not happen immediately. NOTE: Comments reflect the opinions of the person writing them and should not be assumed to reflect the opinion of the blog.

Management has two priorities: 1) Making sure money is made, hence upgrading and filling up apartments is their goal. "Amenities" are important in selling the place, though few residents use them. 2) If someone needs medical attention, Public Safety will be there, if alerted.

Quality of life issues are not that important, however. Things like the carpet rule or outsider dogs. These "rules" tend to be ignored, on purpose it seems. So you will see a lot that isn't taken care of properly, and complaints will be met with a creative excuse and a smile.

"Peace and quiet" must be a cruel joke, though this property is sold that way. There can be no peace and quiet as ALL apartments must be upgraded, which includes the installation of an AC unit below the window. Aside from the continual construction about the neighborhood, there is a new and noisy subway extension being built along East 14 st and the shut down of the L line. "Choosing" to live in NYC, now the newest mantra, is a fabrication when the talk is of ST and PCV, which was traditionally quiet, with no construction noise.

Though money was always important, it is now more important than ever. Money rules many things, as you will find.

At this point, 30 years into living here and seeing many things, I can state that Management and their reps are BS-ing us. I can't say that loudly enough: We are being BS-ed. I don't see any genuine change, though the "selling" of this place is intense. Few of the "rules" will be enforced, as Management doesn't want to lose customers or potential customers. Where personal integrity is a hallmark of an excellent management style, this integrity is not seen in enforcing some of the rules.

Our Tenants Association is, basically, null and void. Oh, it is still around, but it lacks the will power to confront much of anything. The TA will ask for your dues, however. By now, the TA is a charade.

It's Mulch Time Again!

Not to worry, sleepyheads. Mulch-time is well upon us, which means that the beep-beep noise of Stuy Town/Peter Cooper Village vehicles will surely wake you up past 7am if you are still in bed by that time. Thanks a bunch to Stuy Town management for this hoped-for wakeup call!

The smell? Come on, folks, the smell is invigorating! I love the smell of fresh mulch in the morning!

The pollen has been bad so far this spring and the multch is just the icing on the cake! I realize they cannot control the pollen but the multch? Seems to get worse each year! Is this their way of getting us out?

No. Please drop the persecution and conspiracy theories.

The mulch patches are going to be the designated dog poop areas. Better hope one's not near your window.

8:44 belittling Mr Henderson's parents and all those harassed with Golub Notices is disrespectful, rude, immature, and frankly further harassment; warranting no further attention to your conspiracy theory tantrums. Conspiracy theories that seem to hit a truth nerve of yours.

3 46 pm you repeat yourself over and over. You are the only one having a tantrum. Must have hit your nerve. Stop whining it is boring and rude.

At 7:21. This an anonymous board. How do you know that 3:46 has posted more then once? I actually agree with him. Ever since STR has come back, there has been a person (people) that has been nasty when people tell their stories of TA failures. Whoever wrote waaaaaambulance is having the tantrum.

Geez, folks. Really, mulching is another attempt at getting us out? Get real people..
Here's a definition of mulching: Mulch serves several purposes. It will not just suppress weeds and slow moisture evaporation, but should also break down into the underlying soil gradually and thereby improve the soil's texture. A layer of mulch helps moderate soil temperatures. That'll be the day when they add to the definition: Another means of getting people to move out of their apartments...

I just asked one of the grounds men why they don't plant grass or plants in some of fenced off mid patches and he said they were for the dogs to go on. Disgusting!

8 42 I think you're all having tantrums. How about we grow up and talk issues? And you can run for TA, ya know.

>>Mulch serves several purposes.<<

You can say that again!

I also want them to mulch inside the apartment. My plants aren't doing so well.

Did anyone else read that the reason the landlord keeps winning the DHCR MCI battles is because for years the TA Board refuses to provide the number of members? It says that in the windows MCI challenge. What is going on with the MCI challenges, why are they always settled and settled with tenants on the losing end of the stick and rent stabilized tenants more so. How many members are there and why do they refuse to disclose that to DHCR?

Anonymous said...

There were a lot of people who were members of the TA when the windows MCI went through. I doubt that there is even a fraction that number of members now. Those window MCIs were the biggest rip-off ever because the windows are CRAP!

did you file the overcharges, old tenants, new tenants. all of us are getting scammed.
