Question

Why do all bicycle riding signs around PCVST state an enforcement code of NYC when the property disregards NYC codes in other instances???

why are they obscurely placed on the side as we watch the delivery men and kids speed by without reading it. Could they not place these accordingly?

Try the pathways would be my start.

Ah, the PEDESTRIAN pathways. Thank you.

Because "management" doesn't give a flying fuck for the laws and cares even less about the safety and well-being of pedestrians. They care just as little for the safety and well-being of tenants indoors as well as outdoors which is why we have over-crowded apartments with flex walls. They are funning this place as a tenement slum with a few decorative touches (e.g., pretty lights fountain, ice rink, shitty cafe, etc.), but what it really is is a deathtrap tenement slum.

Does that answer your question, STR?

We have read comments posted by PCVST residents stating their fear of being struck by speeding bicycles, golf carts and maintenance vehicles violating posted regulations is causing them to avoid walking around the complex.

Fewer pedestrians, particularly fewer vulnerable senior pedestrians, will naturally result in fewer pedestrian victims.

Clearly, the Blackstone self enforcement policy is working as planned.

But there are a lot of pedestrians! Probably due to the higher numbers of this complex, but they are there.

Noisy, filthy, anything goes.... That's a pattern I am seeing. And no, it isn't reading about it, but seeing it!

Of course, there should be NO traffic on pedestrian walkways, unless absolutely necessary. Speeding bikes, skateboards, smelly zambonis.... Gone. It's a PEDESTRIAN walkway.

Bikes whip around from 18th to the 20th street loop at record speeds. And because of the wrap around walkway and hill they come from its hard to see them until the last minute.
You literally have to dodge bikes. And these bikes have motors! Let's not forget that!

And, again, where is the Tenants Association?

"And, again, where is the Tenants Association?"

We have a Tenants Association?

Suggestion: post bike riding rules in Spanish and Mandarin language editions.

We have a Tenants Association?

self proclaimed:
www.stpcvta.org › About Us
"The Tenants Association was founded in the fall of 1971 as the Stuyvesant Town Tenants ... Today, we are the largest tenants association in the world."

sad, sad, sad legacy

For years without informing their STPCV neighbors/constituents the STPCV TA Board took $$$$ from NYC Council Member Garodnick laundered into STPCV Board's slush fund ... historic TA betrayal of 25,000 STPCV neighbors/constituents handing over STPCV tenants' exclusive access to $2.7 Billion Fannie Mae purchase funding to major Wall Street predator Blackstone in exchange for NOTHING benefitting any actual living, breathing STPCV tenant residing in STPCV.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Laundered? Slush fund? You lost me. I agree that monies have to be accounted for, but you have to connect the dots with concrete examples.

they should at least then use cones or blocks to slow down the bikes. fucking ridiculous a fucking ten year old could run this place better.

This poster is spot on with his observations of the sleeziness of DG and the TA. Ok STR, perhaps the talk of "Laundering" is hyperbole but the gist of what he is saying is very accurate. The tenants of this project were sold down the river. I remember Steinberg saying that if they didn't accept the Blackstone offer then another less benovolent buyer could come in and buy the complex. How would that have been possible when DG was pontificating about "choking off the oxygen of predatory equity" by getting Fannie and freddie to agree to not make any loans that weren't approved by the TA?

DG was bitch slapped by the mayor, and for the sake of political expediency he allowed it to happen. I'm curious to hear any different from any of the TA sycophants out there.

Management will care when someone gets seriously injured and a major lawsuit is brought. THAT'S when something will be done. When it hits them in the pocket. It's only a matter of time. And it WILL happen!

Could you explain how DG was bitch slapped by the mayor? Who allowed it happen for the sake of political expediency? I'm not being sarcastic or anything, I really don't understand that statement.

Dog shit stains between the PS small guardhouse and Oval Study. Very noticeable. Thank you, Blackstone!

.1 if a bicycle has a motor is it then a motorcycle ?
.2 the biggest offender is management & their employees
.3 sub-contractors view StuyTown as a construction site
.4 delivery men proclaim a headlight, neon vests & a helmet as compliance
.5 every building at least in Stuyvesant Town is street accessible
.6 management could at least enforce contractors and their employees to follow the laws on the loops roads, i.e. Wrong direction, ignoring stop signs, etc.

8:53 AM: Management hasn't got a clue. They are all numbnuts.

Anonymous said...

There is no TA. They are just as powerless as you and me.

I don't believe "Management" has no clue and are "numbnuts." I think at least some of them are doing this deliberately.

Hurting us deliberately.

To keep their jobs, to feel like they are powerful, because they despise people who suffer their depredations . . . the list of potential reasons is a long and alarming one.

Blackstone, however (Stephen A. Schwarzman, Hamilton E. James, Jonathan D. Gray, and a whole roster of other sterling humans), knows what it doing.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Names. We don't know what these and other people "know".... Just a mention.

When someone gets injured from the speeding bicycles, skateboards, at night and sues Blackstone then something will get done.

BTW: Can we start a class-action lawsuit because of the noise, illegal crowded apartments, etc? How about all the health issues and job losses resulting from lack of sleep because you can't get up in the morning to function properly after being kept up till 2-3Am.

These jerks running ST/PCV are in a heavy duty FOG. Imagine the flea market in late October. And BTW: April is still very cold in NYC and rainy too.

This place is such a disgrace. Time to get the hell out of here. QOL is more important than a low rent.

If anyone is wondering why Garodnick says nothing about dogs and bikes...

I've been in touch with Garodnick's office about dogs and bike riding here. His office indicated to me that Garodnick supports management's dog and bike policies.

Since Garodnick pretty much leads the TA around by the nose, I assume this is why you hear nothing from the TA about these issues either.

The sooner Garodnick is out of office, the better. Useless, self-serving little twerp.

Blackstone could never own PCVST without already owning Garodnick. Slaves cannot disobey their masters.
