Blindly Vote Democrat and That's What You Get

Let's see. Residents moving out of the city, the city in financial crisis, crime, illegal migrants living in hotels on residents' dime, etc. Here in Stuy Town, we have a councilman and an assemblyman. One is a waste, the other is okay, but a classic bs-er. His latest brochure promotes everything he is doing for the city as an assemblyman, which means spending more money and more money. Nowhere does he speak about austerity and making sure that the city's programs are lean and working. Just spend more money, folks. The politicians try to make it seem that big government is spending this money, but the government is residents in the end, and they know that. So residents, like you and me, will pay. Eventually.

It's the result of progressive lib pols and laws destroying the city. You get what you vote for in this world. BTW, change 'Democrate' to 'Democrat' in you title.

"Here in Stuy Town, we have two councilmen. "

I have no idea where you are getting your political info these days but this is wrong. ST and PCV has only one NYC Councilman, his name is Keith Powers and he lives in ST. Are you confusing Harvey Epstein, our NYS Assemblyman, as a NYC Councilman?

Getting very political lately, STR. Your blog. Your right.

Powers only pretends to live in ST full-time. Blackstone doesn't investigate or care because he's included on their "black" payroll. They don't care who's in--or not in--any of the apartments, really. As long as the rent gets paid (and in Powers' case, refunded!).

You are absolutely right about Blackstone not knowing or caring who lives in the apartments here. There are "revolving door" units throughout the entire project at this point. We don't have an actual Management; what we have is a party-planner and former cruise boat DJ running the place. This is no longer a clean, safe and pleasant place to live. It's really very sad.
