Management has two priorities: 1) Making sure money is made, hence upgrading and filling up apartments is their goal. "Amenities" are important in selling the place, though few residents use them. 2) If someone needs medical attention, Public Safety will be there, if alerted.

Quality of life issues are not that important, however. Things like the carpet rule or outsider dogs. These "rules" tend to be ignored, on purpose it seems. So you will see a lot that isn't taken care of properly, and complaints will be met with a creative excuse and a smile.

"Peace and quiet" must be a cruel joke, though this property is sold that way. There can be no peace and quiet as ALL apartments must be upgraded, which includes the installation of an AC unit below the window. Aside from the continual construction about the neighborhood, there is a new and noisy subway extension being built along East 14 st and the shut down of the L line. "Choosing" to live in NYC, now the newest mantra, is a fabrication when the talk is of ST and PCV, which was traditionally quiet, with no construction noise.

Though money was always important, it is now more important than ever. Money rules many things, as you will find.

At this point, 30 years into living here and seeing many things, I can state that Management and their reps are BS-ing us. I can't say that loudly enough: We are being BS-ed. I don't see any genuine change, though the "selling" of this place is intense. Few of the "rules" will be enforced, as Management doesn't want to lose customers or potential customers. Where personal integrity is a hallmark of an excellent management style, this integrity is not seen in enforcing some of the rules.

About those "club cars" we see going this way and that way, and outside of Stuy Town or Peter Cooper Village:

This Is What I Have to Deal With

I found this comment meant for the Public Safety Cell Phone thread pretty funny and would like to post it here to show blog readers what I have to deal with. These kind of comments generally do not get passed, of course, so you never see them. I also have a tendency not to pass comments that are aching for a flame war with another commentator, though I still let some slip by.

Anyway, here's the comment that got a couple of laughs out of me:

You are an Army veteran with no life, if you use this much time and effort against the New World Order maybe quality of life would be better and people would care but Americans are so dumb down you're like sheeple. Get your head out of your ass and go do some real reporting, instead of staring at some guy in a booth who makes minimum wage. He was probably on his phone looking for a new job compass cock sucks!!!

Too funny. Is that a Michael Novogratz rant?!

I legit laughed especially last line which is probably true. I know they do make more than minimum wage especially older guys and supervisors. Now I speak with some of these guys and I heard it all pretty much. Majority do hate Compass Rock due to changes they made which took away what they had with previous management companies. We all know most security work doesn't pay that well but when I heard what they do get paid and overall what they have too do, honestly they're underpaid compared to other places that utilize Public Safety like colleges and other residential buildings. Maybe if Compass Cock treats them better the department will show better efforts. Just my theory.

Trolling. There are a lot of stupid people living here.

Anyone notice 3 more parking spots are being taken away from us and replaced with what seems to be a stupid bike rack in front of playground 9 loop? Can't fight City Hall. They NEVER tell us what's going on around here. So frustrating and not neighborly friendly. They clearly do NOT know how to run this place.
