Cold Break

I am so glad that CW has gone away because we have been getting constant heat during this vicious cold snap. CW parsed the heat out so stingily that they made sure that some of us were always cold. Even with the heat full blast, it is chilly because of the leaky windows that we are paying a perpetual MCI for! I think the MCI charges should include free adjustment of these non-thermal windows! Only the long term tenants will know what I am talking about.

True, the "new" windows originally had inert gas between the panes to act as an insulator. When the windows began exploding, Met Life ( the owner at the time) went about removing all the gas seals in all the windows. Doing this basically negated the insulating properties of the new windows.

That's why the inside pane feels cold and why they regularly fog up.

I think we all got a little money back after that fiasco.

Did not have heat problems under the previous owner either, haven't had them in 5 or 6 years. From what I understand, some apartments are cold, other lines get plenty of heat. It depends on your line.

Yes and 20 years no hear issues. Plenty of other problems.

Very little! These windows are absolute crap. They were even stupid enough to not put a hopper in the kitchen window. That resulted in a lot of gas hazards because the wind (or even a light breeze) comes through the kitchen window when it is open and blows out the pilot light on the old stoves that have pilot lights. There was never any real intelligence that went into the window MCI. Just greed and stupidity. This was after Bill Potter had retired and some jerk whose name I can't recall was at the helm. He didn't last long. I do remember that.

My apartment was frequently cold and the pipes were cold tool. At the same time, neighboring apartments were overheated. There is something radically wrong with their so-called computerized system. One of my neighbors who has a sensor in her apartment would ask them to turn off the heat because her apartment was overheated, even though other apartments were like refrigerators. Their computerized system is a total fuck-up, just like the TS and CW mismanagements.

No heat problems. Too hot inside.
