And It Will Continue

I think Hillary is the best of a bad lot (which most elections boil down to, anyway). Trump is a raving, ranting fascist and Sanders lives in dream world. Neither Trump nor Sanders could get their agendas through Congress, but Hillary probably will.

You know what I notice in this picture? Three politicians with the biggest weasel and untrustworthy smiles, and our GM with a sincere look. How much longer do we need to see Dan's incredibly fake smile?

the recent primary was a complete disgrace ripe with election fraud and the silence from this collective is deafening...
no matter political leanings all we have is our vote and they have been ruthless in their hubris and distain

I see Bill Clinton shaking hands with PCVST owner Blackstone.

I see Bill Clinton standing between two dishonest politicians owned by Blackstone.

Ohhhh, that explains the Hedge Fund takeover pushing out this community!

His visit was weird and made no sense.

Welcome Back STR as much as you can be with this blog, any little bit does a lot of good. We are nowhere without you!

When and what are the Clintons doing here and why are the Clintons involved in the Hedge Fund BlackRock, Hedge Fund Fortress, and Hedge Fund Asset Manager Blackstone taking control of Peter Cooper Village ST when Hillary campaigns that she is fighting for the Middle Class?

Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town is the biggest Hedge Fund Fiasco to wipe out the Middle Class in the history of the country (except for Puerto Rico and the big road trip Governor Cuomo panel to "help" Puerto Rico when he takes money from the Hedge Funds ruining Puerto Rico! At least Governor Cuomo doesn't pretend to be helping us

Maybe or Maybe Not. This photo is before the subpoenas went to the Governor and the Mayor. I think people across the City and State are catching onto these thugs and their henchmen.

GOP Chairman Cox: Cuomo, de Blasio "Two Thugs"

Glad you are back STR. You are the only place to get the truth. And yes, we are voting Republican across the board!

The Tishman Speyer BlackRock Ivanhoe Cambridge Fortress CW Blackstone Shuffle
They are all the same players and playing the same game with the same employees moving money through shell llc and lp. More BS. Why did Hilary Clinton and Blackstone need Bill Clinton to make an appearance in StuyTown with Blackstone? What message are they (with a smell of desperation) trying to push? Maybe they want us to think if Bill likes this hedge fund landlord it must be a nice hedge fund as opposed to all the other hedge funds. How dumb do they think we are. Completely and totally agree with 2:37

These are ALL politicians (Hayduk most of all). If you want to love something and be loved by something, buy a dog.

"And yes, we are voting Republican across the board!"

Keep voting against your interests. As the first post said: "I think Hillary is the best of a bad lot (which most elections boil down to, anyway)."

Yes, that ZERO percent one year lease renewal rate truly sucked. And this year, we may get one again (zero %), and, I know, there really should be roll back (negative %). Your Republican mayoral candidate, Joe Lhota, would have done the same with his appointments to the RGB? Sure. Your Ayn Rand party believes in NO residential rent regulations.

Per usual Mike McKee, whose integrity is beyond reproach, sums it all up very nicely.

“Mayor fundraised ‘stupidly,’ but it’s not a crime, says TenantsPAC”

Dan Garodnick made a deal with Blackstone to cover market rater's moving expenses when they move into rent stabilized apartments after the long term tenant is pushed out and is calling it "preserving" middle class - clearly he does not understand the meaning of the word "preserving" when he is "replacing" the tenant with luxury market rate renters even helping them move in but not helping any RS stay in their homes. Not once has he advocated for RS with actions, only a lot of words, empty hollow words in the press. Dan has done nothing to keep long term tenants safe in their homes and he, the TA Board and NY Attorney General advocated for Market Raters when they got mid-lease increases but did not advocate for the thousands who got golub notices even the hundreds in 2015. That warranted a class action harassment suit not the TA Board and Councilman position telling golub victims to hand over all evidence of residency so Compass Rock can find and exploit holes or vulnerabilities like when we were in the hospital for a few weeks or home sick and not on their campus "security" cameras. Now Dan gets himself praise in the press as an advocate for market rate tenants because he and Rick Hayduk agreed to pay for market rate moving expenses when they push out the RS tenant. This photo says the relationship between Dan and Rick Hayduk is the same relationship Dan had with Andrew Macarthur. Remember that arrangement where Dan and Andrew were timing their PR effort on the bunker drawing and asked STR to remove the photo from his site so Dan could pretend to demand a drawing from Andrew and Andrew would comply, making Dan look like he is advocating! What I see here is the same old..

We need STR to keep posting these truths about the property and our slimy councilman Dan Garodnick. Take Back NYC and EV Grieve are great resources, but they cover much more then PCVST.

Per usual, you mix in together truth and insanity, just like the conspiracy kooks do all the time.

Trump is a bad choice and still the better choice. The rest of the government can keep him in check and he does not have the know-how to get his bad agendas through Congress.

But the rest of the government cannot keep the established political machine in check that will continue its reign of hoarding all the worlds assets.
So Trump is the best of the bad lot because the checks and balances of the system can keep him in check.

1:35 I have to disagree with your assessment of 12:15. Our lawyer told us the same thing, a decent Tenant Association would have fired back with a harassment suit on that amount of golub notices when we helped our neighbors with theirs.

Anonymous said...

The lawyer called golub notices "a meritless fishing expedition that should have been challenged with voracity"

Actually it is more serious than merely being stupid fundraising. The Mayor asking John Catsimatidis and Don Peebles is probably not just stupid, but very well may be criminal and the excuse that everyone else does it is bad for a politician who campaigned against doing it then did it once elected. That everyone is doing it is the same problem as with Sheldon Silver. Following Sheldon Silver's lead is not a good idea but then again Mayor De Blasio said Sheldon Silver is of the utmost integrity.

At 1:35

Actually, this is completely true. My parents inherited a home a few years back and received a Golub notice. The TA and Dan recommended that they hand over all the paperwork to Compass Rock without offering them any help.

They spend a total of 2 weeks at the house each year. Thankfully my uncle is a high powered attorney that Feed Knapp stood no chance against.

My parents were very fond of the TA and Dan's work before this. Anyone that says the Golub story is a conspiracy theory is a liar that is trying to hide something.

12 15 , wTH? who paid for moving expenses? you sound drunk.

Anonymous said...

Basic rule of survival. Do not hand over your private financial documents to thieves.

Anonymous said...

I need to make a comment. A while ago I posted that it would only be a matter of time before the TA took credit for the improvements under Blackstone. Boy, was I ever right. Reading the TA FB page, you would think that all the positives are because of them and the things that they communicated to Rick.

Haven't we all had enough of them already?!?!?

Dhcr, anyone have a phone # with a human to speak to there? The # on the letters is not connected to one human.

3.00 PM. I said truth plus BS. Read 12.15 PM's post again. He said "telling golub victims to hand over all evidence of residency so Compass Rock can find and exploit holes or vulnerabilities like when we were in the hospital for a few weeks or home sick and not on their campus "security" cameras."

This implies that the TA was in some kind of elaborate conspiracy with CWC to screw long term tenants. As poster 4.44 PM said "2 15 , wTH? who paid for moving expenses? you sound drunk."

4.40. PM, you said that "The TA and Dan recommended that they hand over all the paperwork to Compass Rock without offering them any help." And "Anyone that says the Golub story is a conspiracy theory is a liar that is trying to hide something."

I can understand part of your no help text post per se but this is the first time I have heard that the TA (Garodnick, sure) said just hand over all the paperwork without anything else being said. In the 5 instances that I know of, the TA has recommended a tenant rights attorney to the tenant. I know, sort of a shallow middle ground between no help and substantial help.

Sorry, this is just more of the crap that anyone who disagrees with the conspiracy nutjob who posts here all the time is a TA troll. The guy has also posted that this meeting (see link) and this meeting (see link) were both sting operations, run by the TA, Garodnick, Hoylman, Kavanagh, etc., AND CWC, to snag long term tenants. He also repeats over and over again, without any proof, that the video security system was done to comply with NYU’s dormitory regulations (NYU apartments are an issue here, the official and non-official ones-again truth mixed in with BS) instead of the usual reasons such as replacing expensive personal costs (boots on the ground) with an after the fact security video, a cost cutting rational that is not effective at all. BTW, guess who also had an elaborate video security system installed? Parkchester. Gee, I guess NYU is in the Bronx now as well.

And 4.40 PM, I’m no fucking liar. Are you?

9:09 everything you say is untrue. This community deserves the truth and he is giving being truthful on Garodnick "advocating" Blackstone paying our moving expenses. It was in the news during the lottery and is no secret that Dan Garodnick says he told Blackstone to pay our moving expenses into the remaining rent stabilized apartments at the capped amount Mayor De Blasio agreed to, after Blackstone renovates the apartment.

It is a crappy thing to do to our neighbors. It is not a secret Dan Garodnick did this, so why are you trying to convince this community it never happened?

Here is the truth and is reported in the REBNY press releases.

New Yorkers may now begin submitting applications to the Peter Cooper Village – Stuyvesant Town (PCVST) Affordable Housing Lottery. This lottery comes as a part of Councilmember Daniel Garodnick’s agreement to preserve 5,000 units of affordable housing in PCVST over the next 20 years, and all qualified New Yorkers should strongly consider taking advantage of this opportunity. Applications may be submitted any time before March 31st at www.pcvstlottery.com, and appear applications can be made available to those who mail a request with a self-addressed envelope to Peter Cooper Village/Stuyvesant Town, 243 5th Avenue, Box 425, New York, NY 10016. As a result of CM Garodnick’s advocacy, current PCVST tenants who make it onto the waitlist and move into an affordable unit will not be required to pay a fee for breaking their lease, and Blackstone will pay their moving expenses.

I'm more interested in Dan's third term in office when he voted AGAINST third terms. Also, how are the high-rises doing in Dan's neighborhood and the mom & pop stores?

long timer here and no conspiracy theory sorry old chap. My rent is low, yes it's noisy and we get inspections. so fucking what. i got nothing to hid. you YOU sound like the troll now.

I agree with you on some of the ridiculous conspiracy theoris that you refer to, but my parents story regarding their Golub notice is no conspiracy. They were at that sham of a meeting the TA held on Golub notices. We know RS tenants tend to be older, and all of this stuff is nothing more then scare tactics to push them out. This is not a conspiracy, it's the truth.

I will not mention the TA member who told my parents to hand everything over, but it is someone that is a current board member.

Oh, and by the way, great language. It makes you seem defensive about something. My name is Steve Henderson. You are anonymous.

Dhcr don't matter - the LL doesn't even open those letters.

No reason for anyone to be defensive. I have the deal of a lifetime. YOU? you really need our name Steve? There are thousands of us here, happy , old and not leaving. Move on. Go correct some other Facebook posters and foul language.

3:54 and 3:55 are obviously the same person. Maybe you should take a few minutes to read my post. I am a RS tenant. My parents are RS tenants. Someone responded with vulgar language that questioned my story. I called that person out and used my name.

My parents were victims of the TA and Dan Garodnick, but luckily beat Feed Knapp and the unsubstantiated Golub notice.

If you are happy and old, they know you will eventually be gone. I hope you are doing your part to preserve affordability by legally doing a Right of Succession.

Anonymous said...

Thank you Steve Henderson. You are the truth. That meeting was a sham. The advice they gave was bad and probably unethical for a lawyer to advise a tenant to hand over private documents so the landlord can find a way or loophole to better their nonexistent case to appear better than circumstantial on this guilty until proven innocent victimization that the council person allows in his community. A disgrace.

May 10, 2016 at 11:59 AM Good article.

All the housing problems, fiascos and crisis of the past decade since 2006 are the direct result of the Housing and Urban Development HUD policies put in place at the turn of the century by the same people pretending to "fix" it. The banks, hedge funds and asset management companies obliterated then hoarded American Housing thanks to basically, three people who (two) are now in office to carry out the completion of their plan and the other's spouse is pulling the strings and almost in another office.

Cuomo and DeBlasio and their boss while at HUD made disastrous acts for the American public while making billions for a few who are now hoping for their rewards of positions in D.C. Turning the American Housing market (and London too) into empty third and fourth homes for wealthy and the rest of the Housing as luxury rentals for transients (corporate apartments, student dorms, and short-term hotel-homes) was their plan for about two decades that they want to finalize with the bookend spouse in office. The same dozen names of politicians and the money men backing them can be tied to the plight of the American and the Global Housing Crisis of this century. The operative word is sinister.

Anonymous said...

7:13 am, how was DeBlasio involved in all that? He was the Public Advocate before becoming Mayor and that's a nothing position to hold. I know Cuomo was the head of HUD, but who is the third person? Please educate me!
