Those Yelp Reviews

Not too good for ST/PCV but what can you do? Perhaps more prizes for those who cheer the complex and write about it.

I took a look at the first page and amid the poor reviews I saw one that was dazzling perfect. I read it and noted:

"Summation; if you're a reasonable, regular person or family rent here. We'll hang out on the lawn by the fountain and drink a beer."

Yeah, let's have a beer on the Oval lawn!

We have lived here for less than a year. It has been truly awful. The tub, barely used, always backed up, as well as the toilet. we are not 6 people, we are barely 2 as we travel a lot for work. The noise from above, i guess they are a lot of small kids (one bedroom) running amok and jumping hoops and it's awful. Security called, they said there are carpets but we saw and there are none. Even if there were carpets, honestly would not matter when a 50 lb plus human jumps from the couch to the floor and rolls across it. The walls are so thin, everyone knows this and we can hear them screaming, ok, jump and roll.

I will be breaking lease and if a lawyer needed, my spouse is an attorney. I feel for those living here under these conditions, I could go on about 12 other things that are wrong, but won't.

Yelp reviews are almost always 1 of 2 things:

1) People that had a genuinely horrible experience, and want to tell the world about it.

2) People that work for the restaurant, company, etc.

You almost never get someone in between these two realms, which is why I rarely use Yelp.

I noticed that line in the Yelp review as well. Woo! Bro! Dude!

Of course: "For residents and their guests only"

Hey everyone, we all need to "Funny Up" those BS 5 Star Yelp reviews ASAP.

do young adults read yelp?

Carpet is so fricken cheap. What would be the lowball price any carpeting out of China would give to a place this size!!! So fricken cheap. Want to know why BS and the new owners won't do it? they want you all to be MISERABLE. THEN you move, then the rent gets jacked up, surely and quietly. Are you all stupid?

>>do young adults read yelp?<<

Yelp is popular among a certain young demographic, so....

They (the management) would have to be careful about the color of the carpet. I don't want to bitch but the carpet that is in the hallway has been looking dirty almost since it was laid down. And that's with frequent cleaning.

You can just walk out - Rick don't care. He wants your crib back. Gonna get more money. Just pack and go.

mmm not sure anyone cares about color of carpet, black, grey, brown, blue. just get fcking carpets.

I'm talking about the carpeting in the hallway. Awful and dirty very soon!

STR - I need to vent about a topic. The dogs (full disclosure, I have a dog):

Adults - Its never "cute" for your toddler/child to hold your dogs leash. Never ever. Its dangerous for both your dog and child.

And please if you are walking your dog, look up from your phone. Maybe just once in a while to see what is going on around you? And perhaps if your phone is more important than your dog, you should of though about that before you decided to get one. They require more than a two minute walk while you stare at your phone.

Thanks STR.

I think the point was carpet in the apartments. no one cares about color. the good residents here would like carpets above as they no doubt are being put out and abused for decades now.

Dogs are a BIG problem around here. Just the other morning, I was awoken at 5:45am
because some idiot owner kept letting it bark for more than 1 minute. Management
doesn't care WHO lives here. WHAT A JOKE! Sorry I ever decided to live here.

Anonymous said...

Not sure if anyone cares about ANYTHING anymore in this place.

Good news! The patchwork at PCV should be done about now.

And it's going to set worse. At the start, it wasn't too bad, but now a lot of people (seniors also) need dogs or they don't feel complete. Kids want them, too. Why not?

So... more piss, more dog crap not totally picked up.... And once in a while you'll see dog crap not picked up at all.

And, of course, the noise....

This is the one issue that will not go away, thanks to our good friend Robbie Speyer, who doesn't live here.

I live in the sty and use the asser levy rec center. I walk through PCV to get there. Tonight, while on my way to the rec center, I noticed huge piss stains all over the stoops of the front entrances to PCV buildings. I really don't get how dog owners view that as a positive. Granted I don't have a dog, but I really liked the property better without the strips of piss all over the ground and the piss blotches on the buildings....no offense to dog owners.

I wish I was a market rater, then it would be easy to get the hell of out of here.

Very very off topic ig guess but would anyone reading this know the details an if there is a fee to break our lease early - another night of misery with neighbors and i am over and done.

Yes, I believe there is a fee to break the lease early. Don't know what it is, however.

I see that all the time in PCV unfortunately. One of the things that will NOT go away, no matter how much Blackstone tries.

This property was not meant for dogs but Robbie Speyer allowed their presence to make money easier. We, and the admins who went after him, have been paying for that decision ever since and will continue to pay for it. The present manager has two dogs himself.

"Management doesn't care WHO lives here. WHAT A JOKE! Sorry I ever decided to live here."

Management does in fact care who lives here, but is unable to screen potential tenants based on who we "like", or who will be likely to abide by the rules. We, like thousands of other landlords are bound by the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which prohibits discriminatory leasing practices.

It outlaws:
Refusal to sell or rent a dwelling to any person because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
Discrimination based on race, color, religion or national origin in the terms, conditions or privilege of the sale or rental of a dwelling.
Advertising the sale or rental of a dwelling indicating preference of discrimination based on race, color, religion or national origin.
Coercing, threatening, intimidating, or interfering with a person's enjoyment or exercise of housing rights based on discriminatory reasons or retaliating against a person or organization that aids or encourages the exercise or enjoyment of fair housing rights.

What about management installing carpets in all new leased units? or 80% carpets. they could stop spanned ing bullshit funds on flowers and carpet. No, you won't do it blackstone as you want us out.

Anonymous said...

September 8 @ 9:04 AM: MetLife screened prospective tenants legally (not counting the very early days) without breaking any laws, so why can't these pikers?

Anonymous said...

This management shows no initiative to screen tenants or crack down on illegal ones. They keep telling tenants to report illegal renters. That is their job. With a little creative use of public safety and more inspection of apartments it can be done to some extent.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Manager, aka what's his name now? bruce or don or rick - install carpets in all new rented units. or are ya to cheap to do it?

Anonymous said...

Rick is being paying millions to live here (free ) and run the place. He's not any tenant friend.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately, many residents see Rick as the tenant's friend. They worship the ground he walks on. They don't see beyond the façade. He is a PR man and just because he makes himself available, many residents view Blackstone as a very benevolent landlord.

Anonymous said...

Blackstone is about as benevolent as any right-wing dictator (pick one, any one) regime! They just put a good front on it! Do they use the Mayor's sleazy PR firm, Berlin Rosen? Wouldn't be surprised. Maybe they are not as overtly vile as CWCapital, but they are not benevolent at all. Let no one be persuaded otherwise. Just google them and see why.

Anonymous said...

How do we get the word out and more residents drawn to this blog? I honestly dont think many residents know what is going on with St pcv.

Anonymous said...

Many residents know what is going on but choose to believe Rick's PR about this place. They opt to follow the TA and other ST group blogs which are dominated by rah rah Blackstone flunkies. Although there are some realistic posters on these other blogs, they are few and far between. I have recommended this blog to others, but I don't know if they really read it.

Anonymous said...

On those other blogs, if you are realistic about this place you get banished.

Anonymous said...

I have left the other blogs, because I was relentlessly attacked every time I criticized management.
