We are monitoring the results of the explosion....

News is very scanty at this point, but it appears there was a device going off on West 23th Street and another one, a pressure cooker, undetonated, found several blocks more distant at 28th St. Time: yesterday evening.

Your sources for news are the best places to hear the most recent developments.

Obviously we send our thoughts to not only New Yorkers, but out to enforcement agencies, which are some of the best in the country.

--------

Update: 1:45pm, Sunday. From AOL: "NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio called the explosion 'an intentional act.' New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo referred to it as an 'act of terrorism.'"

Wouldn't it have been useful to have St Vincent's Hospital last night? 29 hospitalized, one in serious condition. There will be of these attacks; the city is becoming more overcrowded and violence and accidents are increasing. Instead of hospitals we have fucking luxury condos. Thanks REBNY and the corrupt pols you have purchased.

St Vinnies would have been a handy place to have had last night.

Not to mention Cabrini or Beth Israel. I pray for this city on a daily basis.

So do I. Is Beekman Downtown Hospital still open, or is it a luxury condo tower now?

St. Clare's also bit the dust some time ago. Thousands and thousands of luxury condos, but very few hospitals. Will it come to the point where, if a disaster happens, people will be admitted and treated based on not their condition, but whether they can pay under the table or whether they are old or young? If there is such a shortage of beds if/when the next major attack occurs it may well be patients will be parsed according to what somebody thinks their lives are worth. A critically injured retiree may get shoved up a corner while a Wall Street or millenial type with a broken wrist will be rushed into surgery.

They caught the subhuman POS who planted the bombs. He wanted to inflict as much pain as possible on Americans. They should put him in the slammer for life and make him live on pork rinds and sour milk. Personally, I would prefer these creatures be executed without any lengthy stint on Death Row.

Subhuman yes but there are more, many more.

NYC limits for affordable housing is out of whack. My wife and i live here with our two kids. We earn about 110k together. We pay over 4,000 a month in rent and space is tight.

but we don't qualify. As you may know, 110k Gross = about 6k or less Net. We live paycheck to paycheck but are struggling. No one understands.

I had to laugh at the posting concerning the Chelsea explosion which management sent out today. First of all, I can read the newspaper or hear the news on TV. They do not have to tell me updates on this story. Secondly, they are promoting public safety as being a deterrent to terrorism here. What a joke. PS does not even enforce rules here. You would be lucky if you could find one to tell about a suspicious person or package. As usual after dark tonight, there were none in the loop. This Blackstone outfit is so full of bluster and inane public announcements. They need to stop with these postings. They are a joke.

Me thinks there's been some deletion at the TA Facebook. The perpetrator was mentioned, with a photo of his face, but now that is gone.

Which perp, STR? There are so many!

Anonymous said...

It looks like the entire post and thread and photos about the two little shits who harassed the young woman have disappeared from the TA fb page! Censorship for sure, unless Mr. Hickey decided to delete his post. I wonder if any pressure was brought to bear on him? The TA does not represent the tenants here. It represents Management.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Right now I will leave Mr. Hickey to speak for himself, if he wants to. I have my own opinions. I will wait until the time is right. Which is very soon. Please note that it seems the TA is not the source for this.

In case it's not evident: I will not be bought or influenced. Not saying that is what happened here, but I am becoming increasingly aware of something not quite right about this place.

such scum really, such scum. report it STR.

Anonymous said...

The Hickey post has also disappeared from the independent Tenants Facebook. Mind you, they are all more interested in the upcoming flea market than anything else that's going down here!

"...but I am becoming increasingly aware of something not quite right about this place."

Ya don't say! STR, there are a lot of things that are not quite right about this place, but I get the feeling you are alluding to something a bit more sinister than the obvious.

Facebook is not working for us. Where even is that post! Why is it hidden? Our new beef is that someone is stealing packages from front door of apartments. Such a slum here - our neighbor left her $10 flip flops in front which was her lil girls and someone stole it.

Anonymous said...

Who took the post down? It's ok if it was the guy who put it up originally, but if some other entity has taken it down, then I think we should know why. Maybe there was some illegality involved with the ugly kids' photos being posted? Maybe their parents (if you can call them that, considering what scum they've raised) created a fuss and strong-armed the TA to take it down?

>>Maybe there was some illegality involved with the ugly kids' photos being posted?<<

At this point (and the points change), I bet it was easy for Facebook to be "influenced" in taking those photos down which resulted in the entire threads gone. So, someone complained, it seems. It still is to be determined whether management had anything to do with this.

There was some woman complaining that it was unfair to the poor babes because they had been tried in public, etc., etc. Hey! If you get shit-faced drunk and harass someone, don't crybaby because you get caught and embarrassed! The looked like the typical obnoxious little shits that bray their way home in the early hours after the bars close. Actually, I think they looked like they may have been under the legal drinking age.

The TA website is terrible. It is so tied up with management. Any time I posted anything critical of management I was crucified and insulted. Many of the residents who post on it may even be management plants and if not are very naïve and nasty as well. The Peter Stuyvesant posts usually back management or just make inane statements. I left that website, it doesn't surprise me if they took that photo down.

"it doesn't surprise me if they took that photo down."

I am an administrator at the Tenants (not TA) FB page. We did not delete Hickey’s thread. The deletion of Hickey’s FB thread at the TA FB page occurred around the same time as the deletion of the thread at the Tenants FB page. The evidence seems to me that someone complained directly to FB about both threads and the threads were taken down by FB itself, not admins, at both FB pages.

Also, as posted at the original thread ("No Comment Necessary") at this blog re this issue.

Maybe STR could post their ugly mugs and Mr. Hickey's original post on this blog? Some woman complained who may well be related to one of the little shits. Don't know that for a fact, but just wondering.

Sorry, here's that post:

As per Thomas Hickey

"I did not remove the posts. I was surprised when I saw that both were removed at about the same time. Nor did the page administrators remove them. The only thing I can think of is that someone reported them as violating Facebook's community standards. Maybe I am not allowed to post pictures accusing people of misbehavior?

Let be honest why would a corporate entity or manager care if they're boosting substantial profit on Move Outs? Think bout it , you've all been HAD.

Blackstone & Rick should have a new Ad campaign:

we'll pay you to move in and pay you to move out! Where can one get a better deal than that eh?
