Here We Go Again

Photos taken earlier today. By now, seeing something like this should be very familiar. Of course, there are Blackstone workers, porters, club cars, Public Safety officers that pass scenes like this all the time.

Unfortunately these photos are becoming more and more common. Blackstone is getting away with turning this place into a real slum. I no longer see the point in taking them or posting them. At one time, I thought that sending them to local politicians might help, but apparently not. The dumping continues unabated and Hayduk’s answer that there is nothing he can do is bull crap. We never had this before. Seeing these photos just serves to enrage me more. Some of the long term residents agree that it is not the fault of management but the tenants. This is what we are dealing with.

There will be some action taken. Maybe. Right now, at this moment, there is no answer. But there will be answers. I will see to it. And I will report soon.

Anonymous said...

Appreciate your sentiments but I am not holding my breath. I see nothing happening that is positive here.

Hayduk is a useless, ineffectual manager and a scofflaw. The photos of the squalor have been seen far and wide and are not telling a good story about Stuyvesant Town and its disintegration into a squalid slum. Eventually, it will come back to haunt them and, worse of alll, from their point of view, it will cost them big dollars. It's no secret that Stuyvesant Town, which was once iconic, has been raped, pillaged, and has become a nasty, dangerous slum.

A good TA (ha!) would have a publicity arm that would, with photos, tell people what this property is. Obviously, it is not all bad, but there are some areas in which nothing is done or are ignored. Look at the outside publicity of this place: Aside from residents, there is very good "press" about this place. To give an example, check out all the positive things that are written about it in the NY Times.

Anonymous said...

It will not cost them or ever haunt them. Their creation of dorm, Airbnb, transient, city subsidized slum is here to stay without any local politicians interference or TA. We have seen that our local politicians are ineffectual. They will continue to rake in the profits. Nobody will stop them.

Anonymous said...

Exactly. They are here to stay and will continue to make this a slum.

Anonymous said...

Answers are nothing. Not sure what you will see to.

Anonymous said...

Who is going to stop them?

I don't agree that Blackstone considers "negative" publicity harmful to them.

Some time back, on one of these threads, someone asked for links to proof of Blackstone's policies and actions of destroying people's homes (and, by extension, injuring the lives, health and wellbeing of thousands upon thousands of people). Here is one. I ask that everyone reading this post please carefully read the article.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-housing-invitation/

THIS is who is hurting us so badly.

Anonymous said...

Blackstone does not care about negative publicity. Unfortunately they get positive publicity for their solar panels, gyms, and other fluff.

Anonymous said...

Exactly! Thank you Stand Up and Fight! I just opened the link https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-housing-invitation/ and see it is a direct indictment of Blackstone.

Blackstone is a SLUMLORD of the same school of ethics as Kushner! They are the absolute scum of the earth and are spreading misery globally.

Don't you folks understand that when people are moving out they couldn't give a shit where they leave their trash ? It's not like they're staying and can be shamed for their actions, they're in the wind, and the landlord isn't doing anything to hold anyone responsible.

Anonymous said...

When I move out (soon I hope) I am going to leave all my shit behind and not pay the last month's rent. Treat these grifters with the same amount of respect that they treat us. Am sick of living in a noisy, dirty slum and have a nice place lined up in Queens. G'Bye, Shithole Sty Town.

Anonymous said...

The fact that Blackstone is allowing trash to be thrown on the loop is despicable. A whole bunch of mattresses and crap were just put there with two PS officers standing near. It will be there all night and maybe longer. A landlord DOES NOT ALLOW move out trash to just be tossed anywhere. Our past owners were no picnic but they never permitted this. Disgusting.

Anonymous said...

The landlord permits it with signs allowing it all over the loops.

Anonymous said...

It is nine AM and the noise level in the loop is horrible. These vehicles they have going around are so loud. Don’t know what they are doing. The place is a dirty slum anyway.

Anonymous said...

Maybe we should all write to SDNY? This is the filthiest and most unsanitary place I've ever lived in.

Anonymous said...

And nobody here has any power whatsoever to stop this from happening. The TA is useless!

Anonymous said...

The landlord permits it with signs that allow specific times and dates, not anytime you choose.

Anonymous said...

Looks like a HOUSING PROJECT here! Luxury Living, right?

Anonymous said...

And they are concerned about SQUIRRELS? What a bunch of idiots! IDIOTS!!

Anonymous said...

Garbage IN, Garbage OUT! Simple!

Anonymous said...

Hayduk probably make $100K/year, and does nothing, but put up more signs.

Anonymous said...

And the beat goes on...........

Anonymous said...

"Hayduk probably make $100K/year, and does nothing, but put up more signs."

I'm pretty sure he makes a lot more than that. And for what? He has made this place resemble a tenement slum. He's either incompetent or has no sense of decency. Maybe both. He seemed like a nice guy to start with, but just look around the place - and don't dare question his management style (from what I've heard). Maybe he's under orders to run the place into the ground and turn it into a tenement/dorm/slum, but he should know better as he is a family man.

Anonymous said...

Some guy on the TA facebook said that Heyduk told him he relies on him to be his eyes and ears. Does this mean that Rick is admitting to being blind and deaf? Aren't there other property managers on the property who should be trying to keep the place clean and acceptable? What about that Debra Sabatino? Does she still work here. Not a particularly pleasant person, from what I've heard, but I've never dealt with her. I think there are a few other property managers too. Surely, between the lot of the them they could do a better job!

The real solution would be to stop renting to students and transients.

Anonymous said...

"Hayduk probably make $100K/year, and does nothing, but put up more signs."

Really? I guarantee he makes at least double that, probably triple or more.

Anonymous said...

100K? he makes much more.

Anonymous said...

they're making money hand over fist off the MR group. Rents that are normally 1400 a month they get over 4,000 dollars for every month now. Then Blackstone gets a tax break J51 on top of that also. Woo Hoot love the land lording in this city.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Hayduk definitely makes more than 100K.

I've seen that "eyes and ears" comment. And, yes, Hayduk and Co. are abdicating their responsibility to have residents be the eyes and ears. Not only are we supposed to have property managers, we also have Public Safety (and monitors!). Public Safety officers ride around and are supposed to see a lot, aside from being just a presence and giving a smile to residents.

And what about that Green Beret guy? Is he still around? He should know that this is no way to run a place, unless he is totally a Blackstone man.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

BTW, on the "loop" business, I am pressing for a response that is welcome. So far, no go, even with our politicians. I will keep pressing and report my findings soon, though I fear these findings won't be a surprise.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Seen this late afternoon, one of those "club cars" not only going across 20th Street, which Blackstone doesn't own, but going against a red light that everyone else was waiting to turn green.

Anonymous said...

They cannot stop renting to students and transients because they can’t fill these overpriced apartments.

PIG STUY TOWN!

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Blackstone and this Management don't care much about bad publicity if it is limited. Take a look at ACE Hardware on 1st Ave. They are constantly getting ticketed for their truck, but whatever fine they get, they don't care. Same thing with Blackstone. Does it truly care? And they are getting good publicity for some of their endeavors. This "good news" will be promoted. The other stuff, the negative stuff, will be excused or ignored. And our TA is playing along with them.

Anonymous said...

Imagine making more than $100/year and doing nothing? I want that job. What a jerk.

Anonymous said...

Where the hell is our TA on all of this? WHERE?

Anonymous said...

Is it just me or does anyone have a child sharing a wall with a sex-- all night neighbor? The sounds are loud and my daughter is 8. It's really crazy wild sex, every sound and moan heard for hours. Why can't these people these are students put furniture on the shared wall.

Anonymous said...

What's that huge black thing? Are people putting their butt plugs out for collection?!

Anonymous said...

Doubt that you will get a response or action on loop issues or concerts. Both are still going on and it looks like our local politicians have been ineffectual in promoting change.

Condoms in the stairwell and elevators in East 20th Street building.
REAL CLASSY!

Anonymous said...

7:57 pm, put a note under the door and ask them to tone down the ecstasy because it can be heard all over the floor and upstairs and downstairs. They won't know who put the note, but it may cause them to tone it down a bit.
I have neighbors who do it in the living room and everybody waiting for the elevator is treated to the sounds of her orgasming. Worse than a porno joint! Speaking of joints, they smoke heavy duty pot while they are screwing and we all have to share that too. Horrible place this is now! Not a suitable place to raise children at all.

I have another perspective to share on the bulk waste on the street problem which is shared here with respect for all who post here and in hopes that if a new solution to the current problem is implemented that it doesn't revert to the previous method of handling bulk rubbish from our streets. Reverting back to the old way would be just as much of a disaster and eye and noise pollution as this current situation. Here's what I mean -- for years and years my apartment looked over one of the pick up areas for bulk rubbish furniture mattresses and the like. What management did previously was workers would move all of the rubbish from throughout the community that was discarded in carriage rooms and they would move it store it in store rooms. Then twice a week or so workers would spend hours hauling and dragging out the rubbish and stack it up into piles literally 5 feet high outside my window ... what would happen next would take more hours ... sanitation trucks would arrive and for hours idle in place while workers threw same rubbish again into the back and it would be chopped up and compacted and after hours of this noise would be hauled away. So what happens now is that management instead of moving it to store rooms picks it up directly from the streets in the vicinity of where it is discarded - maybe not frequently enough since it does tend to build up and is very unsightly for sure. Having it distributed around and then picked up directly from the bulk collection area by trucks rather than moved so many times and collected under the windows of a few sad residents is preferable to me. I think solid waste is a problem of humankind in every community not just here in ST & PCV. We don't want it but it's ours. Garbage that is. We create it and buy things and then throw things away and then we have this problem!

Long Time Resident Who Has Had Enough said...

A new low for Stuyvesant Town:
In the stairwell in one of the Oval buildings: a pile of dog shit, a puddle of piss, and to put the icing on the cake a condom on top of the goodies.
What an "amenity!"
But at least we have the "concerts" on the Oval which should assuage our anger.
Nothing like a third-rate band blaring and disturbing the peace and quiet we all are entitled to enjoy.
What's that Rick?
You're worried about squirrels? Hahaha.
Susan Steinberg truly you should hide your face in shame for the disservice you and your phony Tenants Association have wrought on this community.
A sad excuse for a human being.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I am aware of this problem which may to due to the carriage rooms needing to "make money" and not be used as a dumping area. Then again, it could be a code thing or even the presence of too many temporary residents. However, that difficulty does not mean that Blackstone and its Management can ignore what other residents see, with some dumping being illegal.

Anonymous said...

I disagree. It is a disgusting sight on the loops and sudewalks

Anonymous said...

Here’s a novel idea... make this a place where people want to call it their home for many years, not one year. Hundreds of move ins and move outs each month is the major cause of this crap, and it has been for the past decade.

If the moves weren’t so rampant, garbage would be at much lower levels. Obviously not gone, but drastically reduced.

Anonymous said...

This has been the problem. The transience has gotten worse under Blackstone. They seem to have all sorts of creative ways of making this a transient dump.

John Marsh (aka PeterStuyvesant) is back on the TA page posting and commenting on political nonsense that has nothing whatsoever to do with StuyTown. Guess I’m not surprised this was allowed to pass, since he’s a moderator.

Facebook needs to shut down the TA page, as it’s run by total fakes hiding behind an anonymous account. Facebook said they were hunting down illegal anonymous accounts, yet this one is still going strong, unlike the TA itself where we haven’t even heard a whimper in years.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

>>John Marsh (aka PeterStuyvesant) is back on the TA page posting and commenting<<

Off point and a distraction! LOL! What a jerk!

Marsh only posts on fb to promote some political issue. He is a big fan of DeBlasio and will a total sycophant when it comes to Management.

About the garbage on the Loops: I agree that much of it ISN'T GODDAMN GARBAGE.
It's the result of assholes destroying this place, who don't goddamn belong here, who know NOTHING about the concept of "home," and just buy furniture, use it for a few months and then dump it as if it were a waste product. I cannot tell you here what I would do to these people. Suffice to say that the problem would END very quickly and permanently!

About the pieces of excrement called "human" and their "sex." YOU NEIGHBORS ARE WAY TOO NICE, WAY TOO MEEK, WAY TOO POLITE. This wouldn't be tolerated in different venues BECAUSE:

Neighbors subjected to this behavior EVEN ONCE would bang their goddamn doors down, create such incredible and loud disturbance that they'd stop! Not only your fists and other body parts, but physical objects would be employed TO STOP THIS UGLINESS ONCE AND FOR ALL! A door which is shaking from the force applied to it, together with the accompanying really scary noise, and augmented by shouting, yelling, screaming and frighteningly ENRAGED Neighbors would make a difference immediately.

I assure that it can be done IF you will do it.
