Department of City Planning about R7-2 in Stuyvesant Town (An Oldie but Goodie)

Just a reminder:

Who are we reminding? We know and they do not care. Without TA lawyers, so what.

That’s the one thing any new TA would need - a strong lawyer. We know our politicians (Powers and Epstein) have no spine, so a lawyer who isn’t afraid to go head-on against big RE is basically a must.

We are witnessing firsthand how politicians are nothing but liars with no fortitude to go against real estate. Rivera campaigned LESS THAN A YEAR AGO that she would not allow the tech hub without certain concessions being made. Guess what, no concessions. Another liar, but I guess that’s to be expected based on her rent stabilized apartment history.

Unfortunately we are in a time where most people realize that ALL politicians are corrupt, so they just vote their party affiliations. It’s the eventual destruction of this country since most voters don’t have a mind of their own.

TA lawyers have not done a single thing for tenants since 2003. Stay away from TA lawyers. Do not trust them.

August 2009 Tishman Speyer Rob Speyer listed 274 First Avenue 7F as a condo for rent. This surely shows Rob Speyer's claim in May 2008 of hiring Fred Knapp to clear out rent stabilized tenants gaming the system because as Rob Speyer says in the NYTimes he wants only permanent residents.
Tishman Speyer lies and so do all those hired working with them to do their dirty work.

274 First Avenue Condo listed for rent as they turn a rent stabilized community into a condo conversion where nearly all of the market rate apartments are condo rentals by individual, foundation, and corporate leaseholders.

The StuyTown leasing department is shady as all heck.

And there is more at 274

March 2012 Tishman Speyer lists condo for rent at 274 First Avenue 8G Stuyvesant Town New York

This despite the fact that Tishman Speyer pretended to "walk away and hand over the keys" in January 2010

Seriously an investigation of the StuyTown leasing department which has had all of the same employees from Metlife through Tishman Speyer BlackRock shell company takeover to today's Blackstone Ivanhoe Cambridge ownership is long overdue.

Saturday morning, 11:30 am, I can see SIX moving trucks and U-Hauls out on the loop. And that’s just what I can see from my bedroom window, no doubt there are dozens more all over PCVST right now.

How the f*ck can management actually call this a “community” with a straight face? The notorious old SRO’s had less turnover.

Where does it say "condo" in the description?

Anonymous said...

So true. On any given day I can spot at least three u-hauls or moving trucks on my loop alone with the accompanying mattresses and crap. They have nerve calling thus a community.

Perp walk out and no coverage in the Town & Village

What happened to Blackstone Security Officer Eddie Grace?

Anonymous said...

Hate to keep repeating it, but there has been a large pile of mattresses and move out debris in front of my building on the loop all day. It is terrible that these owners get away with this . They are turning the property into a slum .

Regarding labeling this, selling this poor benighted complex as a "community:"

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

Illegal PCV transients frequently move in/out in the middle of the night.

U-Haul vans parked, often double parked blocking traffic, at night for hours along 20th St and 23rd St indicate where midnight furniture dumps will inevitably be discovered the following morning.

Blackstone has no clue and does not give a flying f#ck about the true identities/backgrounds of hundreds, if not thousands, of illegal transients illegally occupying former PCVST residences converted to chopped up PCVST dormitories and illegal PCVST hotels.

There is no longer any coverage in T&V on anything but doggie days , little league and events happening in Gramercy and Flatiron. Nothing critical of what is going on in ST. Blackstone owns them.

This is true. There is no screening or registration of tenants. This leads to a large presence of Airbnb and other transients. The moving in and out is not monitored at all. This is what Hayduk calls a community.

Blackstone is deliberately and openly turning this place into a slum and Hayduk admits that what they do is illegal. Our elected "representatives" do nothing. The corruption absolutely screams at us.

Re Eddie Grace:

It seems as if his health has improved since he's gone from here. I believe that would be true of any and all of us true "residents."

He was overburdened and harassed while he was already ill. He was subjected to a particularly insidious and injurious behavior in terms of "supervision" shortly before he was fired or whatever they termed it - after over 30 years of service, I believe.

Many of us miss him mightily because he was truly one of us, a caring and decent person. (I know: some have written here otherwise.) Maybe the days we are most reminded of his presence here is each Sunday, when we think about him at the Farmers Market.

I cannot believe that the TA or whatever it calls itself is still asking for volunteers and donations in its e-mails. For what? The nerve of those parasites of Blackstone.

Eddie Grace cut a deal

I just can’t see things as so dire as many of the others who have posted. Have lived here 29 years, raised a family here, active in the community. The young families here remind me of me when I moved in here in 1989, enjoying family-friendly amenities and city living. The gardens are as beautiful as can be. So nice to have community open space. ... on the down side, the solid bulk waste is unsightly and an embarrassment when guests visit, making progress on waste management seems to be the biggest area for improvement for Rick and Re to tackle. I don’t think we need entertainment four nights/week, that’s overkill. ( I think sustainability efforts here are commendable- composting, solar). I wish the pathways were cleaner, dog stains are an issue that management seems unconcerned about. Seems like asking porters to hose down walkways in front of buildings would go a long way.

Anonymous said...

The ta has some balls to ask for money. For what? omg, is this a joke or what.

Anonymous said...

2:48 Unlike you, the new families don’t stay long. They are either short term residents or are priced out of their apartments. The gardens could be lovely but the waste makes the place look like a dump. The porters do enough here and should not have to hose walkways.

When the TA opens its books I'll consider joining. Seems like a very shady organization from what I've hears. Did the ever achieve anything for tenants? Ever?

Anonymous said...

I haven’t renewed my membership in two years and I still get the e-mails .

Anonymous said...

In the past, many years ago, they were much more proactive and concerned about the tenants. Since the Blackstone deal which they actively promoted, they have become a useless arm of management.

What a bunch of crooks!
Open up the books, Susan Steinberg, and you may have some credibility.
Afraid you may be doing the perp walk soon?

The solar panels are creating vast amounts of heat and killing birds. I wonder if an EPA survey was even done.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

The solar panels are to make it seem that Stuyvesant Town is more than up-to-date. It is leading!

Blackstone is really working the “green” bandwagon. Takes away from their performance in running a garbage dump slum and gets them positive publicity.
