The Curious Case of the Disappearing Posters

All over Stuy Town, it seems. Posters also released by Crime Stoppers. Showing the perpetrator, and warning residences of Stuy Town to be on the lookout. Why? A crime was committed (the victim was choked to unconsciousness) and the crime was going to be more serious if a passing resident hadn't stopped it, causing the perpetrator to run away. A poster by Crime Stoppers near the incident has been taken down days ago. Why? What is going on here? Is the selling of apartments is more important than alerting residents? Than exposure of the perpetrator?

---------------------

Update 7/9: But the selling of apartments continues full blast. Seems it is not permissible to mention any crimes being committed here.... Seen today on one of my internet travels (enlarged a bit):

Can a "happy place" have any crime? Impossible! Can a "happy place" have dog crap, intrusive noise, motorized bikes, skateboards, suicides, club cars riding this way and that across 20th street??? Impossible!

-----------------------

Another update 7/10: The Oval Fountain area is one of our "jewels." But this hasn't stopped Management from turning it ugly. Yes, I blame Management. If it were me, I won't allow a screen like this to stand for days until the next showing. Not only is this a hazard (children play around there), but it is ugly to boot.

And we've seen this! Below is "paint" that doesn't come off with simple rain. The doodling will be there for a few days at least, and inside the fountain, too. Again, I wouldn't allow this in the fountain area. This area is also for residents to relax and take in the "peace and quiet." But little Johnny can do what he wants, and Stuyvesant Town doesn't give a damn.

Saw posters being taken down by porter in my building.
Asked my porter why.
He said,"Boss told me I had to do. Don't look good to customers."
WAY TO GO, RICK!

Apperently attempted rape is a new "amenity".

I don't have personal proof of this, but it wouldn't surprise me. As I said, PS ignorance is telling of itself.

Anonymous said...

I asked my porter the same thing a little while ago, and I’ve known him a very very long time. He said management instructed the porters and grounds crew to take down any signs they saw in the building.

Slick Rick is smart though, he didn’t bring this poster up specifically, he just told them to take down any posters not authorized by Stuy Town. This way they can say that it’s a policy for all posters, not just this one, although we all know what the reality is since they were told to do this last week and never before.

Yes, Rick is slick.

The curious cases of Property Management services grows. The Crime Warnings of Wanted Rapists poster removal. The Peter Scoops Ice Cream Selling Trucks at Blackstone properties just before the State seizes the ice cream store. The hockey stick robbery attack before that. Plus all in between. This "property management" company is a curious one to say the least. Besides we don't need ice cream scoopers. We need pooper scoopers.

If the 13th Precinct detectives working on the assault/attempted rape case of Saturday, June 29, 2019 are informed of the deliberate hindrance of an investigation into a violent crime, do you think some of the personnel here might be arrested for interference with the ongoing investigation of a violent crime?

Removing posters asking for help in identifying a violent criminal would seem to be a criminal offense, no?

Anyone have the names of the detectives working on the case?

This lifelong Democrat will most definitely be voting for whomever is the Republican candidate in the next Mayoral race. DeBlasio and his crew have just about destroyed this once-great city. When it's ok to piss and shit on the street, we have really gone down the drain! That, plus all the fucking bike lanes and lack of enforcement of any QOL laws makes me miss Giuliani!

Anonymous said...

"Yes, Rick is slick."

Rick is beyond slick. He has absolutely no conscience. He couldn't give a shit about the safety and welfare of the people paying rent to live here and it will come back to bite him in his ass. What goes around comes around. Don't give me the line that he's obeying the orders of Blackstone. If that's the case, then it's time he grew a pair and grew a conscience. What a vile man.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

>>Removing posters asking for help in identifying a violent criminal would seem to be a criminal offense, no?<<

Depends. It is against the law (I checked) to put posters up on posts, poles, fences, etc. Of course, this is "private property," and so another set of "laws" are followed. Management can always deflect.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

It is also against the law not to lean dog crap if you are the owner of the dog or a landlord. There are a lot of "laws" that it may be time to enforce.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

And by "enforce," I am not referring to Management or PS.

Somebody in the Dept of Health is definitely getting paid off by Blackstone. If that were not the case they wouldn't be allowed to allow dogs and humans to relieve themselves on the property and they wouldn't be allowed to leave uncovered mattresses all over the place. I know of NOWHERE in New York City where this kind of filthy, disgusting situation would be allowed to prevail.

I agree. I am sure that the Health Department is ignoring these sanitation violations purposely.

There is currently a “survey“ going on at the TA FB page that is supposed to accurately measure STPCV tenant’s opinions on the Oval movies. Since the TA FB page has been turned into a marketing arm of Blackstone, the posters are doing their usual cheerleader act. They mostly want the movies even louder. The lack of empathy at that page is off the charts.

I almost got mowed down by a delivery man on a bike when I was crossing First Avenue and 15th Street today. I had the light and just zoomed along the bike, I had to jump out the way and he went speeding on - through the traffic light of course. The delivery guys are worse than the Citibike crowd because they are rushing to make money and that makes them think they have the right of way at all times!

I wish I had a Zorro Sword and could run after them and go zip zip zip and slice and dice their tires!

I have that complaining to city agencies is useless. Many posters have mentioned no help when contacting them. Obviously not, Blackstone continues the noise and sanitation violations. They are actually getting worse, particularly sanitation. My guess is that they have deals with the city to ignore things in return for subsidized apartments.

Without a doubt, the TA is an arm of Management and I am now sure that Management tells them who to silence and get rid of.

One lady was banned because she was argumentative and sometimes rude and crude (though she raised some excellent points at times!). More recently, anther lady was removed because, being an Oval dweller, she complained persistently about the Oval noise during the movies and "concerts." She also was offended by filthy uncovered mattresses bing dumped near her building that made her feel embarrassed when she had people over to her apartment. She never insulted anybody, never used bad language and, quite frequently, raised good and helpful points. She was banished because she was "negative." NEGATIVE! The Ultimate Capital Offense! She just didn't get with the program and cheerlead and praise every time Management did something more intrusive and gauche to please the rubes. She complained about things that hurt her personally and invaded the space she is paying for, e.g., intrusive noise from the Oval, cigaret and pot smoke seeping into her apartment and making her feel ill. She never complained about anything else and never got nasty with anyone. But she was the subject of Rick's order 'OFF WITH HER HEAD!"

Paying your rent on time, keeping your apartment quiet and clean and carpeted and never bothering your neighbors or conducting any illegal activity or enterprise in your apartment is SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH. Unless you fawn and crawl all over the TA and their boss, "Queen of Hearts Rick,," the edict: OFF WITH HER HEAD comes down. You can't go outside and enjoy a pleasant walk around the property because of the zooming bikes, puddles of dog piss and streaks of dog shit (maybe a few of those augmented by children and adults) and you can't remain in your apartment without being assailed by the amateur crap from outside, the Pot Pits inside and let us not forget the possibility of sulphuric acid being cooked in your local undergrad dorm.

No wonder they have to lie and photoshop to lure anybody into this property. I think somebody should do an undercover documentary about this Oasis turned Blackhole.

This place gets more and more like it was written by Lewis Carroll every day. We have the Mad Hatters, Dormice, army of cards that collapse in a moment (PS and rules LOL). And I am guessing Rick is the Queen of Hearts yelling 'OFF WITH HER/HIS HEAD!"

You have to keep complaining and stop with the negativity. At least you get a record of your complaint which you can use in the event you file a lawsuit or better yet we get an actual TA not the Al Doyle/Susan Steinberg ass kissing one. If we give up we lose. I'm filing whenever I can. I am not a quitter or the type to leave things for someone else to do. I hope there are more of me out there, but if not I will file all alone. I'm not giving up. How could I live with myself otherwise? That would make me an Al Doyle/Susan Steinberg and I am way better than that.

Yes, this recently removed( banned) poster was treated unfairly and atrociously by the scumbag TA. Management might have had a part in her censorship, but the TA, aka Peter Stuyvesant did not tolerate her criticism of their organization. She was often dismissive and critical of their lack of credibility and action. They did not respond well to this and were very defensive. They hate being called on the carpet because they know that they area sham.

Now they are posting on the TA fools site about the movie choice. These movies are crap. If you don’t like it, go out to the movies. They show the worst and crappiest movies. July 9 @ 11:49 PM: Who do you complain to, and about what? Complaining about the lack of heat did no good, even though it was on the City's records that they had hundreds of complaints. I saw them myself. If you complain about noise, nothing is done. PS doesn't care, the 13th Pct is totally uninterested in what goes on here. Our so called elected representatives are owned by Blackstone. So, WHO and WHERE do you complain to?

That cowardly TA needs to disband their site and organization. They put up a thread polling opinions on the concerts without ever intending to do anything with it except tell management that people love them . A cheerleader troll spoke inappropriately to a lady who wrote against the events. Her tone and words were mean spirited and included many things that the TA calls no-nos. They refused to censor her after she fought back at their feeble attempt to tone down her comments. She should have been BANNED. They ended up removing the whole thread. Sniveling hypocrites.

Blackstone is executing its standard business model, i.e., make tenants miserable and reduce the property to a slum. Do a bit of Google searching and you will find that this is the standard Blackstone procedure. Blackstone is world-known for being the worst landlord on the face of the earth. It has destroyed homes and lives all over the planet, especially in Europe and North America. Slick Rick is the Face of Blackstone and I hope he gets all the karma that is coming to him.

Why can'we,the dissenters, arrange a time and place to meet and formulate plans to get changes needed to counter the forces of evil here. Evil is when ST purports to be a safe,law-abiding rental community and is not. Don't the numerous infractions here break the guarantees of quiet and safety provided by our
lease? The new NYC housing anti-harassment law is consistently abrogated by ST management's ongoing attempts to get rent stabized tenanants out by ongoing challenges to tenants' legal residence at ST. Management's tactics are legally costly to disprove and have caused actual physical and mental distress to tenants here. (See NY Times May 2018 article re world champion chess player and teacher of Bobby Fischer, a Mr.Lombardy, deceased nine months after eviction by ST).
Responses tenants can take: Isn't a class action by tenants v. ST one of many pro
legal options for tenants? Speaking as a woman, the near rape and lack of security that has resulted in other attacks here as well, signal the need for a "Me Too" movement at ST, Loud and Clear. There are
thousands of young, middle- aged, and older women who are living here with multiple risks to their safety, from bike and skateboards to deliverymen and other strangers within our wide- open 80 acre community. The threats to safety are so obvious they scream. Any small NYU campus or college dorm has immeasurably more safety measures than any bldg or outdoor space here. Rent strikes, picketing, and class actions are among time-tested
recourses for tenants. So is publicity.
The NYS attorney general's office has just resolved the case against Ruben Toledo,a major East Village slumlord for $3 million. We can't give up while Steven Schwarzman, a 14-times-over billionaire, excoriated by the UN itself as a one of the leading causes of homelessness around the world through tenants displacements.
And now, he owns STPCV. It might be a long battle but amuch needed one. Perhaps we should picket Schwarzman's 732 Park Ave residence on a regular basis. He only has $14 billion so to speak.
Now that the media has covered the near strangling rape there
is new interest in our little garden of evil. (Read Nathanie Hawthorne's "Rappacini's Garden" as a guide to evil).
Our next step is to meet each other (tricky) asap. I suggest the always empty diner on 14 and A at 9 pm Sat or Sun. Or at the 5 Stuy cafe, same times. Unless this experienced blog owner has another idea which I and others would welcome. We can tart off with a pleasant conversation and see where it leads. Management NOT invited.

I am certainly not against residents banding together, but my opinion is that there are too few in number and that number can always be claimed as insignificant by Management. Basically, Management will do whatever Blackstone wants and put a smile on while stating it (whatever) is for the tenants. There are enough tenants who are cheerleaders who will make any contrary attempt seem like sour-grapes.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

And, just so you know, I have other things that I am doing and my own attempts. This can take time because I cannot devote all my time to this, but I am doing something that is not yet public. Perhaps I will continually lose, and others too, but so what? Is the choice to do nothing? Management can put on a smiley face and act very nice, but they are not satisfied with this blog. For sure. Neither is the TA. For sure.

In the news, finally, harassment tactics used by the wealthy and powerful to cause suicide by the unprotected public. Finally a court case where those in power may be held accountable for driving people to suicide by robbing them of their basic human rights, safe workplace free from harassment and safe home free from harassment.

Not yet reported is that the fault of the public being unprotected lies squarely on the lawmakers who set up a system with weak to no protections for the public and simultaneously strong support for their politically-connected, wealthy family and friends.

Stuyvesant Town was in the news in 2006 regarding the use of courts to ruin a tenants chance of ever providing themselves with a home - rendering them homeless - by using the courts as their weapon of choice.

In 2006 the New York Times reports that just one court case whether won or lost, brought by a landlord against a tenant, negatively effects the tenants chances of getting a lease anywhere else.

The housing court makes public the names of all tenants whether the landlord or tenant brought the case and as reported, landlords will not lease to tenants who are named in housing court cases no matter the outcome of the case or the reason for the case.

Using litigation in courts is a weapon used against tenants by landlords and courts alike who are investors in real estate.

This includes landlords filing false claims against tenants and tenants filing harassment claims. The tenant will always lose because other landlords will not rent to them.

Stuyvesant Town lawyers are quoted in articles reporting on this, and are knowledgeable of this very fact that tenants are inhumanely harmed each and every time a landlord files a claim in courts no matter the legitimacy or outcome.

https://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/22/realestate/22home.html?mtrref=www.google.com&gwh=1206605B86264D04FF03D1A655D7B41B&gwt=pay

It is a cruel act by landlords and lawyers to block human beings of their basic human right as the United Nations calls out just this year.

It is an even crueler act by tenant lawyers who since this 2006 article was published have done nothing to end this discrimination, prejudice, and use of litigation as a weapon to deny basic human right of housing.

Suicide is often written off as mental health issues of the decease while other very real causes are covered up, as job stress, housing stress, financial stress, legal stress.

This court case is important to each and every Stuyvesant Town tenant who is victimized by litigation harassment and housing stress, and even job stress as many of our employers are owned by investors in Stuyvesant Town.

80-90% - The people who just don’t care either way. They don’t attend oval concerts and movies, and probably don’t even realize they are taking place. They enjoy living here, but they spend their time enjoying all that NYC has to offer.

Some of those management trolls are vicious. They must be paid by the TA or management. Not only do they attack by the TA site. They also contact you and attack by private message. Really horrible people. I have to believe that they are getting encouragement.

Anonymous said...

I hope that the TA knows that they are running a site which is inhabited by some vicious, unstable people. I am actually sure they do know. These management trolls harass tenants by sending them private messages. These people should of course be banned from the site but are not. They are dangerous.

The Stuy Town Tenants Association Facebook page is a disgrace.
Filled with Management trolls and truly vicious, hateful people.

Anonymous said...

The self-righteous women who complained about someone posting that management had made some misspelling errors in an article about a young man who needs a kidney should be careful who SHE throws stones at. On her own FB page, this nitwit just posted two videos that show her and her friend feeding the squirrels here on the property, which management has asked people NOT to do.

I don’t know how they watch these crummy, old, unappealing movies in 85 degree heat. Guess it is for”community spirit “ 😂

Community?
What a joke! This place has become a transient hotel, a mecca for the airbnb-ers, a picnic ground for non-residents at the tacky "events" on the Oval and, of course, a dumping ground for bed bug infested mattresses.
And who can forget the overpriced artisanal fare at the eColi 5 Turd Café.
We have our own Love Boat here with Captain Rick Hydick as Cruise Director.
Sad.

Hey, I knew there must be a reason for more peace and quiet. Except those damn helicopters, of course!

Well before the new rent laws were enacted, Blackstone had been cutting back severely. We had no heat to speak of last winter; the grounds look like shit - in fact they're caked with shit and filthy mattresses and other detritus; the elevators are always breaking down and the buildings have a seedy, rundown look, notwithstanding how hard our porters work. The revolving-door airbnbs and student dorms add NOTHING to either the general ambience, cleanliness or safety of the property and the "security" is virtually non-existent. But, hey, we've got ancient crappy movies free on the scrub f/k/a The Oval and the bug bites and shit stains are free.

Anonymous said...

Well said 9:11. The amenities are overwhelming: garbage, cold air in the winter, mattresses on the streets, and of course fun, fun, fun every Wednesday and Thursday evening in summer.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Rick will move on to something he can actually manage. He's certainly been a failure at managing this dump - which actually wasn't a dump before he took over.

Anonymous said...

The vile Blackstone company makes Tishman-Speyer seem like saints.
Anyone who pays 4 grand a month to live in this dump is a fool.
Dormification and Airbnb is what is up the road.

Anonymous said...

Even if Rick moves on, the place will continue to deteriorate under this vile company.

I read the Crains New York article regarding Blackstone's response to the new rent laws.

When Blackstone had their press conference on the 1st Avenue Loop, I immediately suspected total destruction of these homes by slow degradation and then total annihilation to build more monuments to greed, stupidity, destruction of the natural world. These four years or so, it has seemed to me that they are right on track.

The new New York State rent laws suggest to me that it might go otherwise. I think it a real possibility that Blackstone might dump us, sell us off (or at least part of us) because we ain't gonna be the plunder-n-pillage deal they'd counted on.

Unless the overweening lust for control over others, and desire to rule them and even hurt them, dominates their insatiable greed, Blackstone might well decide to abandon their thwarted plans for us and leave.

Whaddya think?

What happened to the "Salsa, Chips and BYOB" events? Anyone here every attend one? There was one scheduled for my building, but the posted the notice where nobody ever reads the notices ---- the notice board in the lobby!

Anonymous said...

"What happened to the "Salsa, Chips and BYOB" events? Anyone here every attend one? "

One person posted here about this crap "amenity" on this blog, said it was a joke.
I used to see posters for this at the Oval and at the 16th Street entrance. They are gone. Hoping that the s**t attendance stopped them. Anyway, since Blackstone is crying poverty over the new rent reform law, maybe they can do themselves a favor and save themselves some money by ditching all of these Carnival Cruise events. And fire that Carnival Cruise director, there’s a salary/benefits savings expense win/win.

Anonymous said...

It is already dormified and full of Airbnb but I agree that this will only intensify. I also believe that more city subsidies will be prevalent in the future no matter what they claim.

Anonymous said...

Agreed. New rent laws don’t make this property as lucrative as when they bought it. I’m guessing they are shopping this place as we speak, but there is probably not a lot of interest.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

Re: Those new rent laws. Some cheerleaders/residents are playing into the REBNY talking points. They forget that this place is rent stabilized, that there is a New York City, and that we have a TA.... Ah, forget that last part.... LOL.

No, that will not happen. The greedy pigs will slump more on heat and cut services.

Maybe they will go to prison.

Anonymous said...

Oh, if only they will go to prison!

"Stint" on heat and cutting services: I agree. They well might take this prized opportunity to degrade the buildings further, leading to earlier condemnation of their "property" and the ability to oust EVERYONE to demolish the buildings.

Rules and Laws are broken everywhere including here in StuyTown. The city has gone downhill with the current administration at city hall and city council. Criminals have free reign. The Manhattan DA is under investigation for mishandling cases of serious attack crimes against women.

There is a call for an investigation into the DA's letting Jeffrey Epstein off the hook. This is on top of his letting Harvey Weinstein off the hook. Of course there are more crimes against women in StuyTown and New York City.

In 2017 the Mayor gives keys to the city to a repeat drug offender who in 2010 smashes his car while driving his 5 year old to school while high on cocaine - and is back in the news again for a cocaine arrest. The values held by the current administration perpetuate a lawless city where crime pays, is rewarded, is given honors.

Sexual predators and drug traffickers are protected and rewarded in New York City.

***1977 BLACKOUT***

On the anniversary of the famous blackout, the west side of nyc lost power. Times Square and the crappy theater district were crippled by this event. Where was ole bill desucko?? He was in Iowa campaigning for president. Hahahaha.

CRACKSTONE doesn’t care about the rent laws. The whole renovation business was a money laundering scam. They make their money any evil way they can. Don’t buy into any sob story.

Oh the TA....those people are assholes. Beat up lonely cowards who are to afraid to stand up for themselves or anyone. The TA FB page is a riot.

What they are is not a TA. They are an ugly, inept management tool. They don’t know how to deal with management or tenants. They will never get another penny from me and I will continue to try to convince my ST friends not to pay dues to this bogus, mean spirited organization.

Anonymous said...

How in the world can a group claiming to be a TA, brag about”getting a seat at the table”. Instead of sitting at the table, they should be confronting management with organization of tenants and their lawyers. But then we know whose side they are on.

Anonymous said...

Very sad and unquestionably despicable. This bogus organization is worse than management.

Anonymous said...

As vile as Management is, they don't hold a candle to the totally unscrupulous, ineffective, DISHONEST so-called Tenants Association.
They immediately censor and threaten to ban any criticism of our landlord on their Facebook page.
They are supposed to be advocates for the renters, not lackeys for Management.
Shame on you!

Today I saw a dog very close to the fruit at the farmers market here. At one time they roped off the area to dogs. Then they stopped. I asked a PS officer and he said “they don’t listen anyway “. This is unsanitary and disgusting. This place caters to dogs, students and Airbnbers. Talking about Airbnb, they cannot deny the existence here of these illegal enterprises. Today I saw just mattresses, about 15 being moved out of my building. No furniture, just mattresses. It is highly possible that Blackstone is either supporting or promoting these.

The projected revenue model for STPCV has been not insignificantly altered by the new rent laws. As I result I expect significant reductions in "amenities" which are not themselves revenue producing, deterioration of the grounds, reductions in staff which will increase wait times for needed apartment repairs , anything to cut expenses since their revenue numbers have taken a hit. Selling STPCV? There will be no buyers at or near the price Blackstone paid , IMO.

Off-topic question: Although we were not affected by the blackout yesterday, did anybody else notice their lights flicker at the exact time of the fire/explosion that knocked out the power for a big part of Manhattan? My lights flickered (and I did not have the a/cs on at the time) and I was expecting them to all go off, but (fortunately) they didn't.

Maybe. I do expect Management/Blackstone to use the new rent laws to "explain" this or that. Remember, parts of this place were doing downhill before the new laws. But I have photos before the new laws. And many photos were not seen.

We are not lonely cowards who get beat up and are afraid to stand up for ourselves. I beg to differ with you about that.We speak out against them, the TA. Most people do not. I for one have a rich, full life and am not lonely. I work, travel around the world and have a lively social life. Although I agree with the assessment that the TA people are assholes, think before you speak. I bet that you don’t speak up against them under your name and you likely pay dues 9:47

Anonymous said...

I doubt it but we can hope at least for them to go bankrupt and disband.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

The only thing I noticed in the last few days since this new rent law is that there is more peace and quiet here. None of that loud drilling to make new apartments, though that can easily come back. If this is what is meant by a diminution of services (what services?) then I am all for it. Remember, you are a tenant who is guaranteed certain things that cannot be taken away. Don't be afraid.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

My assumption is that a good amount of money that the TA uses is supplied by the politicians.

And if the new rent laws will mean less "amenities" at the Oval, I am also for it, though I don't live facing the Oval.

Anonymous said...

I agree but what do they use it for? Annual bus rides to Albany?.They should be using it for lawyers and organization of tenants. As far as I can see, it is just money in their pocket. Despicable. They should have taken Blackstone to court over the lack of heat this past winter

Anonymous said...

I doubt if they will cut their tacky amenities. Probably PS numbers, heat and sanitation expenses. They love their stupid entertainment program.

Anonymous said...

If they cut back on essential services, e.g., plumbers, electricians, to do necessary repairs and I have to pay an outside person, I will deduct the cost from my rent and deal with them in court. It takes a long time and costs them a lot of money in legal fees to evict someone.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

They can't cut back on essential services. That's why they are "essential." As for cutting back on heat and sanitation. Where? It's already pretty bad, and can't get much worse.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

I hope that the cut backs, if they come, will be for certain "amenities."

Anonymous said...

"My assumption is that a good amount of money that the TA uses is supplied by the politicians."

-----

My assumption is that "all" of the money that the TA uses is supplied by the politicians and "additional unidentified entities" and that actual support from living, breathing, dues-paying PCVST residents is, at best comparatively minuscule and deservedly so for a Vichy TA Board that does not and has not represented the best interests of PCVST residents dating back at least 10 years.

We only know about $$$ bribe/contributions paid into PCVST TA Board's nonprofit slush fund by corrupt politicians Garodnick/Powers because those corrupt politicians are required by law to report their TA Board bribe/contributions.

We do not know if or how much "other entities" (Brookfield, Moelis, Blackstone, etc) may have paid to prop up a Vichy PCVST TA Board that openly abandoned and betrayed its sole constituent (PCVST residential community) by entering into a business partnership with major REBNY predator Brookfield, a $25 million Speyer investor supporting and cheer leading Speyer's failed take-no-prisoners war intended to rake in multiple billion dollar windfalls booting the historic PCVST middle class community out of their long term PCVST homes.

Upon entering into that partnership agreement, maximum enrichment of Brookfield successfully raking in the same multiple billion dollar windfalls Speyer tried and failed to rake in became the Vichy PCVST TA Board's #1 priority. Disguised as Garodnick's infamous, phony "tenant led" purchase, the Vichy TA Board hid behind the Brookfield partnership agreement for 5 years as a false pretext to continuously lie to and keep their 25,000 PCVST neighbors/constituents ignorant in the dark about Brookfield's plan.

At a time when 25,000 PCVST residents did not need a phony partner to own the entire PCVST complex and affordably own their longstanding homes, if they wanted to, Garodnick/TA Board repeatedly made vague references about Brookfield's "deep pockets" and how much Brookfield "shared values" with them. The truth is, for years Garodnick/TA Board were lying to and misleading their PCVST neighbors/constituents. Brookfield was never a PCVST resident partner. Brookfield was exclusively a TA Board partner. Brookfield's deep pockets were mostly empty, only available for Garodnick/TA Board to needlessly stuff multiple billion dollar windfalls into. Brookfield never shared any values with PCVST residents that did not exploit them. At some unknown point in time Brookfield took its apparently empty deep pockets and walked away from Garodnick's phony tenant led purchase without our corrupt NYC Councilman or our disgraced, incredibly conflicted TA Board ever informing their PCVST neighbors/constituents about the status of their collapsed partnership. Garodnick and the TA Board then stood by in silence watching our corrupt Mayor de Blasio needlessly hand over our community and our homes to Blackstone, then falsely claimed they had a seat at the table.

Even today, we still don't know if the disgraced, incredibly conflicted, Vichy TA Board and Brookfield remain business partners.

I don't follow that back-and-forth sniping between the person who said the TA beats up on lonely cowards and the other poster who disputed the description. The TA beats up on people who criticize both Management and the TA. Those people always use their real names and are anything BUT cowards. Lonely? I don't think so! I think it's the lonely folk who go to those pathetic events as well as the people too cheap or lazy to get baby sitters and go out and see a real show or movie.

Security is continuing to deteriorate here.

Many fewer veteran guards are here; we've got a raft of new, exceedingly young, and as a friend says, "vertically challenged," and frankly rather physically weak and unimposing children walking around here looking truly out of place, bewildered, clueless, incapable of enforcing any law here if they had to.

I do not mean to disparage them; I simply mean this is what I am observing.

The very first guard appointed as "Walmart greeter" some time back was walking around the Oval in pouring rain with no poncho or rain protection, seemingly in a world of his own.

Guards have been summoned to the fountain where young children were playing IN the pool, IN THE WATER, and never showed up.

Our chief has now installed a large dog lounging on a doggie bed right in the front window of "Security."

Citibike jackasses, in multiples, are now freely and unchallenged circling the Oval fountain on their bikes without being stopped. And this on crowded weekends.

The list goes on.

A former, and very senior, security guard from the old days described to me what was done to "Security" around two years ago. It was not a pretty picture, and now there is nearly no pretense whatever of working people protecting us.

I'm sure we will not have to wonder for long how much worse and dangerous it will become in the weeks ahead of us.

Happy Monday.

Anonymous said...

8:55 AM, please give us a few details about what happened to Security. I only see goofy-looking kids wearing that uniform these days. As for children going in the fountain: when one is electrocuted there will be a fuss. That's what it is going to take though. The mothers no doubt have their heads in their cell phones and box wines and are the kind who would scream up a storm if a squirrel got near a kid. But let the kid go into the fountain, which is filled with electrical gear and all kinds of piping and wiring for the kid to step on. Don't worry, Blackstone might chip toward the funeral.

Empty Smear - I have no idea what connection, if any, this blatant TA Board troll is attempting to infer about 272 First Ave and Blackstone?

However, there is no more serious issue directly involving every PCVST resident than a disgraced, corrupted, incredibly conflicted, Vichy PCVST TA Board owned by corrupt politicians and REBNY predators funding it, propping it up and pretending it is a legitimate representative of PCVST residents.

25,000? 30,000? 35,000? Your pathetic attempt to conjure up fog and distortion distracting attention away from true serious issues is a tell revealing your TA Board troll status.

Need Proof?

https://town-village.com/2019/06/30/attempted-rape-stuyvesant-town/#more-22935

"The STPCV Tenants Association also sent out a notice about the attempted rape, asking residents to be aware of their surroundings and not to allow people behind them to “piggyback” in by making sure that outside doors are closed securely and not allowing people without keycards inside."

This is the incredibly conflicted TA Board's public statement issued to news media in response to the most recent assault (that we know about) and attempted rape of their neighbor/constituent. We have grown accustomed to these false "Blame the PCVST Victim" narratives planted into media reporting by Just Call Rick and paid P.R. lobbyists shilling for Blackstone.

There was no mention anywhere anytime suggesting the PCVST TA Board's neighbor/constituent/victim was not aware of her surroundings.

There was no mention anywhere anytime suggesting the PCVST TA Board's neighbor/constituent/victim allowed anyone to "piggyback" in.

There was no mention anywhere anytime suggesting the PCVST TA Board's neighbor/constituent/victim did not make sure outside doors were closed.

There was no mention anywhere anytime suggesting the PCVST TA Board's neighbor/constituent/victim allowed someone without a keycard inside.

Yet there it is in print.

The corrupt, incredibly conflicted, Vichy PCVST TA Board is performing a paid P.R. lobbyist function by planting the usual, false, blame-the-victim narrative into news media reporting on behalf of it's Blackstone master.

A legitimate TA Board would issue a press release making statements and asking questions that, at the very least, express a modicum of alarm and concern for the security and safety of its PCVST neighbors/constituents. For example: How many PCVST security officers were actually working and actually onsite PCVST premises when this crime took place? Where were they stationed? Were they awake and alert? When did they discover a crime took place? How long did it take for them to respond to the crime scene? How much of the crime was captured on the multi-million dollar PCVST security video system? ...

Instead, the corrupt, incredibly conflicted, Vichy PCVST TA Board is just another P.R. lobbyist/hack attempting to mitigate Blackstone's potential civil liability for failing to provide adequate security protecting PCVST residents by falsely casting blame on the crime victim (a neighbor/constituent of every PCVST Board member) for somehow being responsible for becoming a crime victim on property owned by Blackstone.

Need More Proof?
