Citi-bike Rules Playground 9

So I passed by Playground 9 (that's the playground that has those Citi-bikes), and found that the actual playground is closed for repainting, etc. But not closed is Citi-bike. Playground 9 was recently worked on, but now, in September, the playground will be closed for basketball. Makes no sense. A normal company, if work needs to be done (a big question mark), would close the playground at the winter months, but not in September!

Unless, of course, Citi-bike requires an "adjustment" at that playground, and time can't be wasted with Citi-bike and our incompetent Management. (Or maybe Management is very competent, but doesn't bother about residents in this situation.)

Regarding the rule of walking your Citi-bike. BS. Today I passed by two Citi-bikes that were not being walked in the pathway by Playground 9.

A big failure. Enjoy September.

Yes the Blackstone bastards have the heating game down to a science. One or two puffs a day and the thermometer stays at a legal 69, but the apartment is chilly.

Anonymous said...

Because T&V is controlled by management along with the TA.

Anonymous said...

Yes, they give a few puffs a day to keep heat at bare legal minimum. They are evil bastards. Last year it was below legal at times so you could complain. They fixed it so that their evil asses are covered.

Anonymous said...

Finally got a puff of heat. Will last an hour , then nothing for several hours. They have this heat deprivation down to a science. Just as the room temp goes below 69 is so, they give us a blast of heat, in a couple of hours it will down again. Evil bastards.

Those temperature "guidelines" date back to 1978 (or thereabouts) when Jimmy Carter was in the WH and there was an energy crisis. He called for those max and mins of temperature. We don't have an energy crisis now (many other crises, but we do have fuel) so it would be a good idea for those max and min rules to be changed. 68 degrees is enough to not get hypothermia, but not enough to be comfortable. It is also not a healthy temperature for elderly people with thin blood and thin skin (it happens to us all if we are lucky enough to live long enough) and it is certainly not enough for small children and people who suffer from various ailments.

It is SUBSISTENCE level warmth and nothing more.

Anonymous said...

I damn near froze my ass of last night. Zero heat.

Anonymous said...

Does anybody know what caused the fire at 610 a few nights ago? I wonder if it was somebody trying to keep warm.

Anonymous said...

A person on the TA site actually condoned urinating in the hallway. What say you Peter Stuyvesant. You don’t say anything anymore. Hiding in shame.

In case anybody doubts the veracity of the claims that Blackstone's evil CEO is contributing to the destruction of the Amazon Rain Forest:

On this frigid day, they keep turning the heat on and off. The off time is too long and my hands and nose start getting cold. Unfortunately I can’t call the Board of Health because it didn’t go below 68 in my bedroom. The entry to the laundry room is warm as I imagine the security office in my building to be. What is the sense of calling these bastards anymore.

Anonymous said...

I agree. It is just bearable, not comfortable. Tonight they have kept the heat going for a couple of hours and it is comfortable. During the day , heat in and off and chilly. When you go into other places in the city it is toasty warm. Here they skimp on heat. Louses.

The Veterans area is now finished and cleared. Looks very nice. But does it belong in that place? Near dogs being walked, alcohol being served, people swinging on those egg shell chairs, the human traffic, etc? Not really. Not if it is meant as a place of contemplation and quiet. My prediction is that the Veterans area will be abused. Some people won't be respectful no matter what. Instead of doing something for Vets and their memory away from the noise, it will be at the center of it. I would assume on purpose, or just because no one is thinking at Management.

Meanwhile, a bunch of plants and at least one tree are gone.

Stuy Town Reporter said...

BTW, there is a very visible opening both ways to human traffic through the Vet Memorial. It will be used. At least by human traffic. Maybe scooters, too.

Slick Rick, we don’t need your concerts, movies, memorials, e-mails, s’more roasts, and all the other crapola you feature in this dorm dump. All we want is heat and peace/quiet .

Read on Facebook that "Public Safety" is not longer delivering packages that were dumped at the wrong address and that RS doesn't answer the phone and takes hours to call back. I delivered a heavy box tonight that the delivery people had left outside. Never again. Maybe if enough people claim credits or replacements for their shit that wasn't delivered, the online merchants would instruct their delivery people to make sure they get the shit to the right address or forego being paid. I only took it upon myself to get this stuff to the right people because it was food. Next time I'll leave it where it is and the denizens of the Associated bench can come and help themselves.

SICK of this fucking place and the half-assed idiot who is running it into the ground.

These bloodsucking thugs don't care about Veterans! This is just a part of their veneer of decency. They have no decency. Schwartzmann and his lackeys (e.g. Rick) are devoid of morality or conscience. MONEY is all they care about. MONEY is their god and they don't mind a few human sacrifices for their god. So what if the elderly, sick and young children die as the result of their heat policies? So what if a few more people jump off the roof or a few more young women are sexually assaulted? So what if old people are mugged by the feral youth and junkies who roam the property? So long as the property is generating money, by any means whatsoever, that is acceptable. When I say "generating money," I am not talking about a fair profit. I'm talking about oodles and oodles of profit.

Well, all you people in cold apartments, there will be fire pits and s'mores (at $5 a pop). Go warm yourselves there and listen to the mindless cheerleaders babbling on. But of you get assaulted on the way home, don't expect any "Public Safety" to be around to help you. Our "security force" is almost as minimal as the heat.

I have to say in all honesty that today we have had plenty of heat. I even had to open a window for a while. Maybe it is an accident (somebody fell asleep at the switch), but it has been DEVINE!!!!

I won't say which building I'm in because I don't want to jinx myself, but usually this is the coldest building in the entire project!

So, I heard helicopter noise over Stuy Town continually past 10:30pm until well after 11pm. And I woke up briefly around 3:30am and the pipes were cold, cold, cold.... They don't heat this place properly. But residents know that. Or they should.

Urine in the hall?
Big deal.
On quite a few occasions I see ( smell ) freshly laid turd in the stairwells or hallways.
A very simple solution...JUST CALL RICK!

So very true!
How about some heat?
How about not turning this place into a dorm?
How about cracking down on the AirbnBers?
This place is headed the way of the projects.

I agree, but nothing will change here because Rick Hayduk and Blackstone use the concerts, movies, skating rink, s’more roasts, etc. to MARKET this property. Filling apartment is their primary concern, NOT the health, safety and peace of mind of their residents.

Absolutely true. I think that Management thinks that the above-mentioned events and "amenities" will distract tenants from the quality of life issues here, but they really only make us more aware of those issues. We don't choose to live here in order to be "entertained." We live here because we want a home-sweet-home that is quiet, clean, safe and WARM in cold months. All the other stuff is of zero importance to most of us. It's not we're living in the middle of the prairie and are entertainment and "amenity" starved.

I walked by the Veterans memorial today. Boy, is that one ugly piece of crap. Can't believe they killed living trees for that monstrosity. A more suitable homage to the Veterans would be to PLANT a tree in their honor. Veterans saw enough of death without this moronic "manager" has to kill something beautiful to "honor" them. A beautiful little garden, tended with love, would have been a more suitable memorial.

Peter Stuyvesant refers to a Dumpster Fire on FB during the Labor Day Weekend. What is he referring to?

Anonymous said...

The Veteran’s monument is lovely, but they could have spent the money in other ways such as fixing the heating system. I refuse to believe that the monument is a sincere tribute to veterans. I believe that it is designed for favorable publicity to cover the fact that this is a dorm slum. Even with all of these so called amenities they are not attracting decent renters. Filling the apartments with students, Airbnb, and city subsidized. So many of the families you see are short term tourists. As for the heat or lack of it, they keep turning it on and off. On a day like today, it should be on all day and night. Slick Rick can’t fool me although he is still fooling some long time residents who see these phony events as wonderful.

It's 38 degrees outside and the pipes have been cold for hours. Put the heat on, you fucking bastards! So sick of this shit! Paying top dollar to live in a refrigerator!

Anonymous said...

That TA site gets better and better. Some jerk puts up a beach photo of Margaritaville over which he says that “Stuyvesant Town is his happy place”. I guess if you like freezing apartments, pot smells, dirty mattresses, and noise. Is this guy for real?

Anonymous said...

Been reading all the rave reviews on the Veterans Memorial as I sit here in my chilly apartment. Cold pipes today and tonight. They can keep all their events and remembrances. Intolerable.

Anonymous said...

So much noise tonight. 1:36 AM and the hooting hollering bros and girls are out in force. I hate living in a dorm property! It doesn't help that we have no Public Safety/Security (whatever they want to call themselves) and there is ZERO policing by NYPD around here. It just gets worse and worse.

PIPES ICE COLD THIS MORNING
Pulling this same shit again like last year, Rick?
Where the f**K is our so-called Tenants Association??

Anonymous said...

I haven't called RS lately, but I've heard that they take more than half an hour to answer the phone. What happens if you have a flood in your apartment? I've had two in the kitchen and two in the bathroom over the last couple of years. Also, one of the screws fell out of my toilet tank so it emptied all over the bathroom floor. Stuff like that can't be put on hold for a long time without causing damage to property, personal belongs, etc. What the hell do we do in such a situation? Situations like this are more common these days because of the overcrowding, abuse of the property, negligence of maintenance, etc.

Hayduk does s'mores while the tenants drown. Cut back on the "entertainment" shit, Hayduk! We need plumbers, Resident Services Personnel, Public Safety Personnel. God! What kind of a property manager are you? What was your last gig? Couldn't have been one that entailed responsibility for people's lives and welfare.

Heat not adequate yesterday or last night. Down to 67 in my bedroom during the night and woke up to a cold apartment. Was happy to get out to my warm workplace. These bastards have the nerve to dedicate a Veteran’s Memorial to make themselves look good while some of us freeze.

Anonymous said...

What the heck is with this dirty, scruffy homeless flea market blocking 14th St. between First and A. Disgusting. Junk all over the sidewalk. Where are the NYPD and the council person, Rivera, who I believe is in charge of that area. Between that and the homeless bench in front of Associated, this neighborhood is a real eyesore. Who in their right mind would pay 4 grand monthly to live in this dorm dump with limited heat surrounded by this crappy neighborhood. deBlasio is largely to blame for the abysmal conditions in this city.

Anonymous said...

The heat situation here is becoming intolerable. For two days I have had cold pipes for much of the day and night.

Anonymous said...

Same here. Intolerable chill. Launched my first complaint today, not that it will do any good.

Anonymous said...

It is getting bad already. They put heat on for two hours and expect it to last. Forget the TA. They do nothing to help. We have no assistance.

Anonymous said...

God, O God. Please send us a real Manager who knows how to manage a residential apartment complex. Please don't send us another cruise director. We may all die on this guy's watch. We'll freeze to death, get sick or there will a massive flood or fire because of the cutbacks and the lack of skilled workers.

Is it going to take a fatality by fire, electrocution or sickness caused by inadequate heat before they get rid of this turkey and send us a competent property manager who is not a former entertainment director or cruise director? We don't want your amenities and entertainment, Rick. We would prefer you stick them where the sun don't shine. We are not on vacation. We LIVE here.

Anonymous said...

Instead of fancy monuments, they need to spend money to give us more heat. This situation is outrageous. Last year I complained loudly and finally got adequate heat in February. We need help here. I notified the council office today, not counting on help from them. Next call is health department. We should not have to live like this . I dread coming back to my cold apartment.

I wonder if "60 Minutes" would be interested in doing a segment on Schwartzman, his hideous life-negating business plans and his involvement in the destruction of the Amazon Rain Forest, his destruction of lives throughout the world by his blood-sucking renting policies. And, of course, his destruction of Stuyvesant Town and PCV, though I doubt that this is his most egregious undertaking. Maybe 60 Minutes could arrange an interview with Susan Steinberg and ask her to explain herself? In all honesty, though, I would rather they went after Schwartzman who is a truly evil poisoner of the Planet. Steinberg is a nothing.

Did anybody get the email from the TA stating that Management can no longer afford the labels for the directory board, intercoms and that they also can't afford to put name labels on apartment doors? Is that a joke? It's not April 1. If that is true, and not a joke, then Rick Hayduk is the biggest fucking FUCKTARD there ever was! They nickel and dime us on essential things and piss away money absolute garbage like s'mores and "concerts" and digging up and replanting all year round. Unfuckingbelievable!

They want to save money by not putting labels on doors and intercoms? I think I'll leave every light on, every tap running 24/7 when I'm not home and really incur a little cost to them. I can't believe we have come to this. This is total insanity.

Anonymous said...

I agree.

Please do not do that. You will be running a very serious risk of causing a fire or a flood - or both. Please don't endanger human life in order to get back at the filth who are making our lives miserable. You would hurt the innocent, not the guilty.

It's MANAGEMENT'S FAULT this place is churning apartments and can't hold on to tenants. If they just kept it the way it was they would have a steady income stream. They are so fucking stupid I just can't. All for a few more dollars to ruin the existing tenants quality of life here. THIS PLACE IS SO LUXURY LIVING. HEY MANAGEMENT, SUCK IT UP AND PUT THE DIRECTORY BOARD BACK. YOU CREATED THIS MESS AND CAN'T AFFORD THE LABELS??? WOW. HOW ABOUT GETTING RID OF THOSE STUPID DOGGIE BAGS. OVAL NOISE POLLUTION CONCERTS. FIRING THOSE INCOMPETENT FAKE ARBORISTS. YOURSELF. you Aholes!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Why did they bother with the Veterans memorial statue that looks like something Godzilla fought in a movie when all they want is to kick out original long time tenants here?
This PR BS stinks. The money could have been used in a better way. Blackstone SUCKS.

Anonymous said...

The people they are renting to keep getting classier and classier. The new tenants above love to throw their white cigarette butts out their windows. I mean ALL OF THEM. The ground right outside my window is completely covered with a blanket of white butts. When one of these butts fly inside my window and set my curtains and home on fire is when I will be suing their asses off. Real classy people moving in. More like TRASH. Wait, aren't most of management from Florida? That explains a lot.

Anonymous said...

@10:24 PM: I totally agree with you. They no longer "vet" people who move in here like they used to. Any riff raff with a checkbook or parently-funded checkbook can move in. Many of them have no class, no breeding and are totally self-absorbed. They never learned to play well in the sandbox and were raised to believe that the rules of common decency, self-respect and respect for others do not apply to them.

Re: Garbage thrown out the window. Go to security with these complaints. They'll connect you with Lt. Lika who can handle this.

Keep calling 311 every day if necessary. That will get Rick's attention. And keep a log of when you called, the temp outside to tell him when he calls your apt.
