Thank you, Blackstone; thank you, Rick!
Today was a very good day to take some photos. A lot of them, so sit back and relax.
There a new lyft signs all over the loops. Some have called them "lollipop" signs. They add so much to this community....
You are welcome to throw away your used furniture on the loops. That's what the loops are for.
The new bike path. This way and that way. While you try to cross 20th Street or get on a bus. Good for your eyes and your reflexes.
It was such a nice day that you can sit and enjoy, even if you come from outside. Stuy Town welcomes all, man or beast.
When I think of Stuy Town, "Good Vibes Only" comes immediately to mind.
Let's see what Five Stuy Cafe has to offer.... Damn! I knew the
prices were higher than what you can get in a neighborhood grocery store.
Oh, oh. The door should be closed when the AC is on inside. The AC was on inside but the door was wide open--all the time.
Good idea to honor those in the LGBT community. But a whole month? Well,
since ST is okay with it, we should honor groups in other months as
well, like African-American History Month, Asian-Pacific Heritage Month,
Irish-American Heritage Month, Jewish-American Heritage Month, National
Hispanic Heritage Month, Women's History Month, etc., etc. I'm
delighted that our steps will be painted every month to honor these
groups!
Again, a BIG thank you to Blackstone and our Manager, Rick, for making this community what it is. We couldn't have done it without you, guys.

What a low class, honky tonk dump this place has become.
Bike gangs riding through Stuy at 5pm. I blame management- these people know there is no security or police presence, and Deblasio- they know there are no consequences anymore. I worry about summer in both Stuy and the city as a whole.
"Oh, oh. The door should be closed when the AC is on inside. The AC was on inside but the door was wide open--all the time."
if you can confirm, then do a 311 on line complaint for this violation, I know but we need to have this crap on the record.

Just posted the 311 overall link, here is the specific link for the complaint:

We are 35-year PCV residents and have never seen the PCVST complex better maintained in pristine condition.
Please keep up the good work Just Call Rick!
Tacky, tacky, tacky!
These photos say it all, especially the garbage dumping ones.
Also if you enjoy views of filthy mattresses and frat boys stinking up your hall with pot.
I posted this at the TA FB page:
" I think it’s a great idea that SPS is celebrating Gay Pride month here but let’s get real. Remember that Blackstone, like all corporations, does things here not only because they are the right thing to do but as per a business model that will be advantageous to the marketing of the demographic that they desire. After all, this is not Alabama. Nor is it Florida? Hmmm? Curious, I went to the Boca Resort and Club* webpage where Rick used to manage to see what Gay Pride activities were listed there. Here is the activities link. Nothing to see as far I can explore. Not dissing Blackstone/SPS in any way here, just keeping it real.
Please remember these wise words:
Michael: It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business.
*From a 4/19 dated link: MSD Partners has agreed to acquire the Boca Raton Resort & Club from Blackstone. No financial terms were disclosed. The deal is expected to close by the end of the second quarter. Hilton will continue to manage the property under the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand.”
https://www.bocaresort.com/experience/
If this is the way Rick ran the Boca Raton resort, I'm surprised it stayed in business. Maybe he kept that pristine because it catered to wealthy people. He obviously doesn't consider us worth the effort of keeping this place clean and wholesome. I guess he thinks we're not worth it.
"We are 35-year PCV residents and have never seen the PCVST complex better maintained in pristine condition."
Pristine? Don't you mean PISStine?
I wonder if they let Rick go from the resort because he is such a bad manager? I've never come across such an inept bullshit artist with a smarmy smile and an answer for everything.
I see the cheerleaders are out in full bloom over this LGBT thing. While commemorating any discriminated group is a good thing, Blackstone and dear Rick have opened up something they probably did not think through. (Do they ever?) I am absolutely serious about commemorating other group events now. Unless Blackstone and dear Rick will ignore other groups, this art seems 1) political and 2) more selling of this place by having the cheerleaders cheer, and for a month. Certain residents may have objections to this "in your face" placement. They could be religious objections or national (as in nation) ones. We have lot of Asian residents and growing, and I don't know how "tolerant" Asians are. Filipinos are very religious (and Asian, too), so Filipinos may see something like this in a different light. Naturally, they will not bring it up publicly. What about African-Americans? Irish-Americans? Women? Muslims? Now every group will have an example that they, the members of a group, should be honored with art. And we are promised more of this LGBT art this month. (I am aware of Stonewall, btw.) This is why, though I was in favor of a sculpture in the Oval commentating veterans, I'm beginning to see my mistake. This sculpture is a gateway to more "I ME MINE" events, and for that, it probably shouldn't happen.
And still the basics are not done. Filthy loops, noise, motorized bikes, etc. And pay more for everything, even if it still is half-assed.
Yes, the despicable cheerleading is out with its groundless accusations and misinterpretation all in support of Blackstone. They see everything Blackstone does as for community. Personally I would rather see no crap on the loops. I agree that the art can be controversial in a residential community.
They will advertise the art as an amenity. Everyone should pay 4 grand a month for art on the ground, tacky concerts and second run movies. At the same time they can dump their garbage anywhere.
He does have an answer for everything and is slick but any manager they would implement would be equally bad. It is their policies especially renting that is destroying this place. The manager is not responsible for the low life demo here.
9;58 4,000? you wish. Try $5500 here.
Two photos added! Yesterday, the blog was laggy, so I couldn't post more. But now.... :-)

BTW:
"Aggressive breeds are NOT allowed. Aggressive breeds include: Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Doberman, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, or any breed the Owner determines, in its sole discretion, to be aggressive. Any Pet that is a mixed breed which includes an aggressive breed is not allowed."
Hah!
You know those monitors that residents are paying for? And our dear PS whose officers are all over the place? Well.... Nothing done.
And if Blackstone or Management or anyone wants to speak to me, I'm more than willing. And I have lots of photos, many of which are not publicly shown.
Warning; management loses rent check - often?how? then advises you have not paid rent and you know the rest of this.. Beware folks
This place is an absolute disgrace. A fucking shit show. We have so much garbage, dog shit, piss and litter all over the property that it is nothing more than a fucking slum. A nasty, dangerous slum. PS is a joke, an absolute joke and I'm pretty sure there is an arrangement between that Martin woman and the 13th Pct that the cops never come. Somebody could be raped and murdered in full view of a camera and no one would show up.
I wonder what happened to that young girl who was assaulted for ten minutes under a security camera until she was saved by a neighbor? I hope she is suing the fucking balls of Rick and his keepers. What happened about the people in the building where the little shit killed himself with Meth which almost taking the whole building with him to the morgue. I hope the people living in that Meth Factory building (and the FDNY, who also suffered casualties) are not going to let it go. Blackstone buys off everybody.
This is not a safe or wholesome place to live anymore. We can thank Dopey Rick, his owners, Blackstone and our corrupt TA and local officials for all that.
We are at the mercy of a bunch of sleezy grifters.
"And if Blackstone or Management or anyone wants to speak to me, I'm more than willing. And I have lots of photos, many of which are not publicly shown."
If you have more photos, STR, please put them up.
Have you ever met with Rick? He is a case of "the lights are on, but no one's home."
STPCV is now a disgusting place to live, regardless of one's sexuality. There were always problems (even back in 1947), but everything bad is now out of control. And Blackstone likes it that way....
PCVST gave up on it too.

Lots of topics:
1. The Lyft signs: where to start - more commercial crap and uglification of the streets and grounds around our homes. And hazards to pedestrians. Oh, and lest we forget: taxi drivers have been killing themselves because they can no longer make a living and may be in deep debt chiefly because of uber (thank you, Michael Bloomberg), Lyft, and similar "gig" money-making schemes which hurt so many people in so many ways.
2. The "meet the morons who will get drunk with you in your building" newest shit: it is beginning tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. Many Blackstone employees who work here have been dragged into this newest horror show. Reportedly, it will take place in the "Main" outdoor levels of our buildings. Again: peace and quiet? Warrant of quiet enjoyment, habitability? Forget it. Come home to noise, possibly screaming, shrieking "neighbors" (who the hell knows who they are?), possibly stoned and definitely booze-guzzling humans right outside your windows for who knows how long if you live in an apartment on Main.
I could be wrong. This was the information I received today.
3. Supposedly because playground nine (the Stuyvesant Town basketball courts near the 20th Street Loop) is going to be repaved (didn't they do that recently), 72 dangerous unnecessary misery-multiplying and MONEY MONEY MONEY for Blackstone (starving they are, yes?!) bicycles will be installed there. BECAUSE BLACKSTONE LOVES YOU AND IS HELPING YOU GET AROUND THIS ABOMINATION OF A CITY WHILE THE L-TRAIN IS SLOWED ON WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS. CITI-BIKE and BLACKSTONE: "perfect together" from Governor Tom Kean of New Jersey in his '80's campaign to lure people to New Jersey.
NOTE WELL, PLEASE: These s.o.b.'s are installing this 72 bike circus and menace EXACTLY WHERE THE FAKE/BULLSHIT SIGNS TO GET OFF YOUR BIKE AND WALK AROUND THE OVAL ARE PLACED.
4. The "Street Art" that has been written about: yes - let's paint people's faces to walk on. That will honor them greatly. Maybe next year they can affix waterproof pictures of worthy people to the bottom of toilet bowls to honor them. You get my drift. And yes: WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THIS?
This is beyond stupid, bullshit and the like. I protested vigorously against the fake, disingenuous, manipulative "veterans" displays they started some years ago. I KNEW then that it was NOT what they were proclaiming it was.
5. Not that Central Park and other places look much different: but who the hell wants to look at so many ugly, half naked men displaying their chests, backs, underarms? Or women, young/old/skinny/flat/toned/flabby with everything hanging out? Get the hell off the streets and Oval here and go to a goddamn beach.
Not so incidentally: assholes are going to/staying on the ruined Oval grass WAY PAST DARK. Being fabulous on blankets, drinking booze, having SUCH IMPORTANT CONVERSATIONS WITH THEIR FRIENDS. Allowing their wild progeny to run, scream, put on displays in the dark employing lit hula hoops.
Also: dogs at the Five Turd Café, on tables, on chess tables, along with the filthy, dog-shit-covered feet of creatures of all ages and sexes who spread their asses and feet on benches.
It is glorious here, no???
>>Have you ever met with Rick?<<
Yes, many times. He knows me, and I know him.
Just read the new email sent by management on pride, community and unity. What about pride in our surroundings. No pride or community in filthy garbage lying around. No unity or community with dorms taking over. This PR is such a crock.
The TA site called that PR stunt note from Rick “lovely”. Don’t tell me they are not a parasite of management. They should worry more about cleanliness , quiet and heat.
>>Supposedly because playground nine (the Stuyvesant Town basketball courts near the 20th Street Loop) is going to be repaved (didn't they do that recently), 72 dangerous unnecessary misery-multiplying and MONEY MONEY MONEY for Blackstone (starving they are, yes?!) bicycles will be installed there<<
Seriously? I hope this doesn't happen, but nothing, and I mean nothing, surprises me any more about this place. I have to say that, despite certain improvements, this place has gone downhill even as Management and Blackstone consider otherwise.
Here is an idea. We have a lot of heritage events (though we passed some already without a word). Why not use the space at what used to be Oval Film, but now is basically underused, to contain a "museum" that will honor whatever group is particularly mentioned that month? This way people will have a choice, and in an AC space, of going and learning and seeing the people being honored. We can have ALL groups. For example: Next year is Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Why not use this space and make an area honoring Asians who now comprise more and more of our residents?
I keep reading that unity and pride e-mail sent out tonight by Rick and I shake my head in disbelief. A parade to celebrate Gay Pride? There is one in NYC. Unbelievable. All we want is a clean, quiet, family oriented community. Is this their way of making people think that this is a cool, great community? Is this their way of covering up the dorm slum this has become? It gets worse and worse. Crazier and crazier.
I found him more like someone with quick, pat answers. Slick. Perfect manager for this company.
Anyone who thinks that Hayduk is not the right manager for the vile Blackstone, take a look at the TA site and comments on his “lovely “note. The cheerleaders and others are loving it. Just overwhelmed with praise for this PR crap statement. He is exactly what they want here. Full of PR crap.
The photos I took yesterday and many days, weeks, months, years before do not lie. Rick has gotten high marks from the cheerleaders and he is doubling down. For him, it's a no-brainer, as he sees he has popularized himself with some people. Expect more Kool-Aid. Some residents will be drinking it with joy.
These posts praising Hayduk and ST are getting more nauseating by the minute. He really pulled a PR coup on this one. These people are living in another world. How dumb and naive can they be.
I hope he doesn't arrange an "event" at the main level of my building because I know some people who will really, really be pissed off at that. Not everybody who lives here is a "poor, lonely soul" or a student (not that they would be interested in such shit). Most people just want to live their lives and not have to have too much to do with their neighbors apart from friendly and respectful interactions. The older crowd already have their pals and have their children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren to involve their lives. We don't want to sit outside and sing Kumbaya with the transients and students, etc.
Please, Blackstone, take this frenetic cruise director out of our lives. Please. We beg you. New Yorkers just don't do this crap and don't appreciate it.
>>A parade to celebrate Gay Pride?<<
I can see Rick and the rest of Management marching at the front lines. With photo ops. Of course, if it was a real Gay Pride parade...
"playground nine (the Stuyvesant Town basketball courts near the 20th Street Loop) "
Playground 9 is near the First Ave Loop. The other ST basketball playground, playground 11, is near the Ave C loop. There are many talking points I agree with on this post but if we are going to be taken seriously, we need to have our facts straight before we post. Location references may seem to be minor but they are not. Thanks.
Just did these 2 posts at the TA FB page:
Post 1:
“Facing the prospect of state legislation that could dramatically alter the landscape of rent regulation, a trio of prominent and deep-pocketed New York City real estate companies — Blackstone Group, A&E Real Estate Holdings and Taconic Investment Partners — met privately several months ago with a group representing the interests of the affordable housing industry to explore a potential compromise that would add protections for tenants but allow for financial incentives to maintain their buildings.”
Reality check everyone. Progressive push button social issues, just like conservative push button social issues, can be used by the oligarchs to deflect from the real behind the scenes work of what is really going on to undermine the economic status of people who are on either the left or right re social issues.

Post 2:
FYI everyone. This was pointed out to me by someone else. As per Rick's Announcement
"Metropolitan Life excluded people of color in this offering; the City and MetLife settled on developing another community in the Bronx for those not permitted to live in Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village."
This is historically incorrect. MetLife built Riverton in Harlem for, as they said back in the day, "veterans of color" , not Parkchester in the Bronx. Facts do matter. Good catch. Both Riverton and Parkchester are our "sister" projects.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riverton_Houses
Re playground location - apologies. I meant the First Avenue Loop, not the 20th Street Loop.
>>Progressive push button social issues, just like conservative push button social issues, can be used by the oligarchs to deflect from the real behind the scenes work of what is really going on to undermine the economic status of people who are on either the left or right re social issues.<<
Rick and Blackstone figured that these pride events are very welcome in this community, because, after all, we have a Mayor who is Mr. Progressive. (Even though De Blasio is despised by most New Yorkers!) And I hope it is not because they secretly think that gays here have money, which is part of their reason for making an overture to Asians.... I can see problems ahead such as each group will now want something special to be done here. Yes, each group. And why not? Rick and Blackstone have opened up something they may regret in the future. We shall see. This upcoming "parade" to the Oval is, to me, almost laughable. (The actual Stonewall is not that far away and I am sure there will be many commemorations there.) Now, Stuy Town will have to do something special for each group and event. That is why my recommendation is to have a "museum" of sorts, so that every group is honored.
And you are quite correct in taking a look behind the mask. How has Blackstone dealt with matters "on the outside." It was just recently that Blackstone got a slap on the wrist for their renting policies and was noted as being against affordable housing. And Rick is an important part of Blackstone. He is one of their CEOs.
This upcoming pride parade is laughable. All of this is a cover for what Blackstone really is about, turning their properties into unaffordable slums filled with students and transients. What is really bad is that the masses are falling for this tolerance and unity crap. This landlord is sinking lower and lower while benefiting.
"Mayor who is Mr. Progressive"
de Blasio is a faux progressive. All the progressives I know, including myself, can’t stand him. He gave us 2 zero % RGB rent increases. And then he went into REBNY mode. And he's corrupt and an environmental hypocrite. Daily SUV trips to his Brooklyn gym. Check out the Take Back NY and Save NY FB pages and you will see the rage against him. All the progressive Pro Bicycle Twitter hashtags can’t stand him either. Hey, a figure who unites the left and right. Who knew.
Why is smoking allowed inside the apartment buildings? It is beyond gross.
But his wife moved back to Florida. Why is the guy even here?????????????????
Let’s not forget... Blackstone is a company that is being investigated by the United Nations for its unethical property management practices worldwide.
Let’s not forget.... Blackstone is a company that does A LOT of business with countries that persecute anyone who is gay.
People need to remember these things, because as Rick sits here painting rainbows on stairs, his bosses are still doing business with countries that would cut business ties if they knew Blackstone was commemorating the LGBTQ community. The UN is still investigating Blackstone for unethical management practices that we are facing and will continue to face.
We have a Mayor? Who knew!
Rick is one great big fucking hypocrite! He works for Blackstone, one of the most evil and sinister companies on the planet.
8 49PM Holy fuck if that's true. What countries?
Blackstone works closely with and has massive billion dollar deals in place with both Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Homosexuality is ILLEGAL in Qatar and you face major persecution for it in Saudi Arabia. Google Blackstone and various countries in the Middle East, and you will see their relationships.
Want to hit Blackstone/SPS where it hurts, reach out to these governments and show them the stance Blackstone has openly taken on this. I’m not saying it will be easy, but in this age of electronic communications, it’s not unheard of or impossible.
Send them pictures of the rainbow stairs and Ricks email about the parade on Blackstone’s property. It’s things like this that make me think that Rick doesn’t always confer with his higher ups at Blackstone because I don’t see how they would approve of this knowing very well how much money they have in deals with countries that could very well sever ties with Blackstone based solely on how much they despise the LGBTQ community.
Those rainbow stairs could be the end of Rick if there is someone out there willing to take the time to email blast these governments and show them the stance their business partner has taken on this.
Again, not easy, but not impossible. Trying to figure out ways to combat Ricks PR machine have failed this far, so maybe a new route is needed.
Whose wife moved back to Florida? Ricks? How would you know that?
who moved out but no deposit was returned or deductions from the deposit?
I don't think Rick is evil. I know he is a lousy custodian of the property, hence the discarded furniture and mattresses all over the place, as well as the dog shit. However, I think he is quite a religious man and is trying to sow some unity and good will among the tenants and very much wants everybody to have respect fore each other. Nothing wrong with that. Nobody is forced to attend the events he comes up with (though I do realize that people living near the Oval are a captive audience. He cares deeply about respect and acceptance of all minority groups, be they LGBT, people with disabilities of any kind as well as minority ethnic groups. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.
In a world where we have an insanely biased dolt of a President who is sowing hate, confusion and discords every time he opens his mouth or gets on his twitter, we need a few more Ricks. I met him once and found his to be very pleasant, if glib. I've butted heads with him, but he is always, always respectful. I really don't like all these personal attacks about him. Criticize his custodian shortcomings, but don't get vicious about him as a person.
Chips and Salsa ...EPIC FAIL!!!
It was laughable. More rats showed up to nosh on the abandoned food than people.

STR I think you got lost in the weeds with your references to other nationality celebrations, having a museum, etc. This is the story that you should create a new thread on. This would be great journalism that the T&V won’t touch. In addition to Saudi Arabia, I am sure one could find many other Blackstone business relations with countries who are also horrible with LGBT rights. Here’s a top ten country list
https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/10-worst-countries-for-lgbt-rights.html
>>I don't think Rick is evil.<<
I don't think so, too. But he gets his paycheck from Blackstone.
>>Nobody is forced to attend the events he comes up with<<
Not forced to attend, but forced to see and, sometimes, hear.
"Chips and Salsa ...EPIC FAIL!!!
It was laughable. More rats showed up to nosh on the abandoned food than people."
Can you give some info on where it was held? Outside on a M level, at the Cafe, etc.?
Thanks
Have the chips and salsa events begun? How are they being held? Are they outside buildings? If they are leaving left-over food around, they have no business complaining about people feeding the wildlife because of rats! Btw, if you feed the wildlife the correct food - nuts and seeds - there aren't any leftovers for the rats!
1:20pm, Rick is the manager of this property and by taking this job he has opened himself up to the personal criticisms he receives on this blog and other places, just as you criticized our president. If he doesn’t like it, he should take a desk job somewhere.
"I think he is quite a religious man...." Those kind are often the most dangerous and hypocritical. Rick is both. And anyone who doesn't know about Blackstone's international 'activities' must have their head in the sand (no pun intended).
Rick can't be blamed for the Evil that is Blackstone.
June 5, 2019 at 1:20 PM
Total Bullshit. The whole post!
The Chips and Salsa was on the main level of Playground 1 right between the entrances of 444/442. NO ONE showed. Good thing too since the area they had the food was right in front of both entrances which would have blocked access and egress, a lease violation (you would think they would know that). Some passerbys picked over the food and even stole some (a woman who was walking by when no one was there put one of the salsa jars down the back of her pants and walked away, seriously). A few of the buildings notorious smokers stood out there and smoked cigarettes with the guy who was running the "party". Right outside tenants windows I should add. I have video, if I can figure out how to send some stills I will. It was so bad even the worker took his cart and drove away for half the time, there was just these tables set up with very little food and waters sitting there unattended, it was very sad. When the sun went down the rats appeared. About 9:15 the worker came back and took everything down. I wouldn't touch that food if you paid me to, I'm sure they will use it again, gross. Clearly, Rick has been weighed and measured, and he has been found wanting!!!
I think more people would come if the Oliver Reed Pub was opened up and they gave out free beer!
Rick is a Blackstone puppet. A great PR guy with an answer for everything. This latest unity crap e-mail annoyed me. I found it pompous and phony. That being said, the 1:20 post praising him is nauseating.
Oval residents including myself are bombarded by this crap music. That unity post was crap PR.
Rats have been seen scurrying around the trash bins in the carriage rooms in a number of buildings.
Not quite the size of the rodents you see on the NYC subway tracks but it's a start.
Since today is the commemoration of D-Day, I am assuming that Stuyvesant Town is also commemorating, as are many, including major leaders over in Europe.
Management and Rick don't give a rats ass about Gay Rights.
Simply a marketing tool.
Nothing about D-Day.
How strange. NOT.
I took a short walk about the property. I saw a WW 2 Vet, wearing his cap, sitting at the Oval. Never saw him before. He was missing a part of his leg, but I guess he felt it was important to go out and commemorate. None of the flags were lowered. I went to the Community Center. As I came inside, a short table was moved and on it was an open book of pictures. The page had D-Day. I asked the gentleman inside if anything official had been planned to commemorate D-Day. Nothing.
Outside, I saw two small American flags that may have been put up by residents.
I just got off the phone to Stuy Town Resident Service. Maybe I missed something....
Nothing has been done, nothing has been planned was the answer.
The major leaders of the world are commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day. I'm sure something similar is happening in parts of our country.
But nothing much is happening here.
Can I now call Rick a BS artist?
Rick...a Class A phony and a Management Tool.
A huckster.
Go back to Florida, bro!
"But nothing much is happening here.
I guess that SPS feels that since they did a Memorial Day Oval event, no need to have any D-Day event. No need to do one yet this is the 75th anniversary date and for the next major date, no WW II vets will be alive. Sad.
Posted at the Tenants and the TA FB pages around 18 minutes ago:
"Someone jumped at 435. T is closed with EMT, FDNY, NYPD."
Another suicide today. Someone jumped from roof at 435.
Rick and Susan should lead the Stuy Town Gay Parade, topless and holding hands. Unity in the Community. Two total fakers.
>>Another suicide today.<<
Very sad.
I've lived here for 40 years and there has always been the occasional suicide - usually one every several years, but there seems to be an epidemic of them now. What is it about Stuyvesant Town and PCV that we have so many now? Is it the everlasting noise? The lack of community because the place has become a dorm dump/transient place? It used to be that you could go and walk around the grounds and feel very peaceful and grateful and listen to the wind in the trees and the song of the birds. It was safe to walk around and there were no fucking bicycles, scooters and skate boards zooming around. Now, it is nerve-wracking to go out and walk around the property. With all the dogs, aforementioned bikes, etc., and the lousy, fucking "music" they like to blast on the Oval and around the dirty cafe, it is in no way pleasant to walk through the property.
If they have any of their "music" and chips and dips shit outside my building, I may drop water bombs on them. Stupid assholes who "manage" this place. They have destroyed it and destroyed our lives.
Another suicide? It will probably merit a brief mention in T&V. Unless something more interesting outside of PCVST occurs. Interesting to Sabina, of course, not to anybody living here.
I've lived here for three decades, and I don't remember this many suicides as have happened the last couple of years. I am not making a clear cause between this suicide and the lack of Stuy Town doing anything about D-Day, but the date is odd. I can see a Vet from WW 2, a resident, being despondent about being forgotten in this "community." And, yes, Stuy Town has officially done nothing.
But, right now, we don't know anything about the suicide.
I agree (mostly) with 2:20 PM. This has become a very depressing place to live now with all the forced camaraderie and the constant noise (inside and outside). Every time you see a neighbor move out (and this happens frequently) you are either delighted because those neighbors were so noisy or despondent because they were quiet and you dread what is going to move in next! It's a horrible way to live. Nobody stays long because of the ridiculous rents and the deplorable crappy "fittings and fixtures" you get for that ridiculous rents. The only people who stay are the [mostly] elderly rent stabilized tenants, and I'm sure they would move if they could afford to.
My building is choc-a-bloc full of students who are sharing apartments that used to be one or two bedroom, but are now three, four or more bedroom. The plumbing is falling apart, the elevators constantly break down and we have a "manager" who brushes off every complaint that is brought to his attention with some glib, scripted remark. He really is dense! He just doesn't see that apart from a few "teacher's pet" types on the TA Facebook page, most of us living here (young and old) are not even remotely interested in the never-ending list of events he keeps rolling out! Most of us would like to live in peace and quiet. We can get all the entertainment our hearts' desire outside in NEW YORK CITY!
For anybody feeling really depressed and suffocated by the suffocating overkill of noise and disruption this manager seems to specialize in creating, it could really send them over the edge.
Meanwhile, it took some time, but it looks as if that Ice Cream truck is not going to be running its motor on the corner of 1st and 14th:
http://www.grubstreet.com/2019/06/new-york-city-ice-cream-trucks-sting-operation.html?fbclid=IwAR2ARzYMFNZchpWqgkZ9kouqw7rMvVozMkv4Mddhy4psm51-yH9WPRrpGHc
STR, I don't think a WWII vet would kill himself because of D-Day not being commemorated in this dump. Those vets are a tough breed and would realize that a no-count, gimmick-loving manager like we have would not think of honoring D-Day. You think the likes of Schwartzman, et al care about D-Day? No money to be made there. The gay community have spending power!
I agree that this Gay Rights thing is strictly phony PR .
Not surprised. Many of the low life demo here are slobs.
I tried to send some photos of the Chips and Salsa event to your gmail account. Not sure they went through.
I think that considering this place was built for returning WW2 Veterans (albeit only whites), it's pretty disgraceful that Hayduk didn't see fit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Now there is some stupid asshole on the TA facebook making jokes about the suicide. It's a moron who often posts tasteless, UNfunny remarks. Peter Stuyvesant never says anything to him. If Peter Stuyvesant had any decency he/she would kick that jackass off the page because he seems to have limit as to what bad taste remarks he will make about any given situation.
Re: the suicide. I received a text from Management saying that a guest of a resident at 435 had committed suicide by jumping off the roof. I was not home when I received the text and decided not to hurry home. I live in 445. When I did get home, all that was to be seen was a big patch of ground that had been scrubbed and, I think, bleached. How terrible. Poor soul. May he Rest in Peace.
That ice cream truck must pay off the cops because it is there all the time, running it's stinking engine and causing a blind spot for people crossing the street. There was a cop lounging on the corner of 14th and First one day last summer and I asked him if the ice cream van was legal. The response was "probably not."
>>I tried to send some photos of the Chips and Salsa event to your gmail account. Not sure they went through.<<
I will check. Thanks for telling me.

Outstanding post. Hopefully, Rick or one of his minions read and finally get it.
Got it. I'll see what I can do.
I thought that the roof doors were locked now.
The TA accepts comments that are not only moronic, but also insulting to people who disagree with management and criticize their do nothing attitude.
Lots of drinking open vodka bottles on the oval. Let's get drunk out there.
This gay pride thing is out of control. They are even having a concert with the parade. Annoy residents even more. They have set themselves up for having to celebrate other groups. More parades and concerts I guess. Only here. This place is a joke.
"I thought that the roof doors were locked now."
Yesterday, around 7 pm, I saw a group of at least 6-7 people on the roof top of PCV 350. They walked to the side overlooking 1st Avenue (above the new leasing office), and stayed there quite a while.
To my knowledge there was a suicide last April, another last October and three others in 2017. Could have been more that Management is keeping quiet about. Something about this place that makes people want to off themselves. Depressed people are likely to feel more depressed in an environment of FORCED entertainment/happiness.
This dump has hit rock bottom. A real slum. These events have encouraged drinking in the oval and I guarantee when the cafe serves booze rules will be broken and the booze will be carried into the oval and on the pathways. Blackstone has turned this joint into a real dive. The students love it here.
I heard that the man who killed himself was a "resident's visitor."
"Lots of drinking open vodka bottles on the oval. Let's get drunk out there."
No wonder this is such a dangerous place to live. If winos come onto the property to drink, they get turfed out.
>>I heard that the man who killed himself was a "resident's visitor."<<
I heard it, too. A blog? But, this seems weird. What does a resident's visitors do? AirBnb? I don't know.
There are also people from outside picking up the move out trash on the loops. PS ignores it. They don’t care or know who they are leasing to, sometimes 5 or 6 unrelated in apartments. A guy on my floor was locked out of his dorm apartment a couple of weeks ago, wearing a towel. It is indeed not safe here. Rick can talk all he wants about community and neighbors. This place is about neither.
Who knows who lives here or stays here anymore. The leasing is obscene. I see more Airbnb every day. There is no control over rentals as long as they fill the MR apartments and collect the money. Prior owners were bad , but this phony, hypocritical owner is the worst.
STR, I got the information that it was a resident's visitor on a text I got from SPS. Of course, they could just say that because they don't want to admit that resident here took their own life, or they could be just confused. Who the hell knows who lives here and who doesn't? This place is totally out of control. It is vile. Nobody I know (and I know a lot of people who live here) have the slightest interest in the "events" other than the flea market.
This Hayduk character has a cruise director mentality and we are stuck with him. I know several students and young professionals who live in the building and they have told me it reminds them of the grandparents in assisted living in Florida. They think the "events" calendar is hilarious. I rest my case.
Tonight the view out my oval window is move out trash on the loop. It will be there all
night and possible a few hours in the morning. How can I have people visit me in this eyesore dump. It embarrassing. Rick and company can keep all their gay pride parades, concerts, and chip/salsa socials and shove them. All we want is a clean, quiet environment.
Doors cannot be locked due to fire codes.
They are supposedly alarmed.
Who knows
No news coverage anywhere of the suicide. Cover up? Is it related to the other two suicides by the two veteran NYPD within the past 24 hours Steve Silks and NYPD Chief and homicide detective Joe Calabrese?
https://lawofficer.com/special-topics/suicide/nypd-deputy-chief-dies-suicide/
Alcohol drinks ok on the oval?
Dog shit in the elevator this morning.
Our building maintenance man told me the amount of garbage and crap that is dumped in the carriage room, particularly after a weekend of partying by the "bros", is unreal.
"Recycling, ya' gotta be kidding??"
"Believe me I wouldn't be surprised to find a body in all this trash."
Alcohol OUTSIDE anywhere here:
NO, IT IS NOT LEGAL. PERIOD.
ANY alcoholic beverage in public is AGAINST THE FREAKIN' LAW.
Blackstone, that greedy and murderous company is CAUSING THIS.
This shit behavior has been escalating for several years now.
I've even spoken with "nice" assholes who are OLDER and think they're goddamn ENTERTAINING their friends and having a "nice" evening by sitting at chess tables close to the Security Office and having a summer dinner including wine. I've been OFFERED wine.
When I complained to Security, they blew me off.
WHEN THE MOVIES START AGAIN, IT'S GONNA BE STRANGERS, and GROUPS OF REAL COOL AND FABULOUS MORONS WITH WINE AND BEER. AND YOU WILL WALK THROUGH CLOUDS AND WALLS OF MARIJUANA SMOKE ONCE IT IS DARK.
SUICIDE? Not a big surprise.
For 2 or 3 years, I've been pleading with people to GET A CLUE.
It is a small relief to me at least that so many of us have finally awoken to smell the pot, hear the noise, READ WHAT A DESTRUCTIVE ROTTEN PIECE OF FESTERING GARBAGE SCHWARZMAN IS, along with his illustrious company.
YES, INFORM THE GAY-HATING GOVERNMENTS WITH WHOM THESE SICK BASTARDS DO BUSINESS ABOUT THE "GAY PRIDE" SHIT. The only thing Schwarzman cares about in addition to controlling and hurting people is MONEY.
Hurt him where he can be hurt: in the pocketbook. He won't stop hurting US. But he'll be damned good and upset when Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other countries throw Blackstone out.
No mention in T&V about the suicide. Of course not. It is now Blackstone's "newspaper."
But PS is eye view away from all the drunkin students at oval yesterday bottles and cans all out, yet said not a word to them.
I don't think Saudi Arabia, Quatar and similar shitholes would ever throw Blackstone out. Evil loves Evil.
Absolutely NOTHING in any of the papers about the suicide at 435 yesterday. Management does a great job of suppressing any negative news about this dump.
>>But PS is eye view away from all the drunkin students at oval yesterday bottles and cans all out, yet said not a word to them.<<
PS should see a lot, but....
The press has never been honest about its reporting on Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town ever since MetLife sold the property and likely long before that. Read through old New York Times article during the property sales from MetLife to today. They never told the truth about what is going on here.
Will someone please excerpt and post the entire e-mail from Rick about the gay pride/unity/love nonsense? Some of us have not seen it.
Is there a URL where it can be read, please?
To those wanting to know more about the suicide at 435 yesterday, it could be that Management (and T&V) are keeping quiet about it out of respect for the family of the victim. I have heard that it was not a tenant of Sty, but a visitor. I've also heard that the scene was extremely gruesome. Suicides happen everywhere. I have known two people personally who killed themselves by jumping (not here) and it is so shocking and traumatizing for family and friends. I wish people who feel so desperate would reach out for help because there is help available and it is free.
Well here is a shock. A management company lied about renovation costs to illegally increase rents from regulated with rent stabilized increases to market rate. At the same time, sad but true according to the news, the most important StuyTown concern raised at the 13th precinct meeting is bicycles and not any other crimes as those by management companies or the city agencies who were supposed to stop these practices but let it go on. Here is the link to the lawsuit filed by the state attorney general office against the management company's financial and economic harassment of tenants.

Don’t bother. It is nauseating
Here is Rick's letter to the community:
Dear Residents,
Over the weekend, I attended service at my local house of worship; the sermon’s theme was Unity. The religious leader spoke about how life could be easier and happier if we could all come together under a set of common principles revolving around taking care of each other more so than focusing on oneself. But my note is not one of faith or religion; it’s about Unity and Community.
June is Pride Month, and while equality is important all year long, it's a great time to recognize the advancements of the LGBTQIA+ community and champion for equality, diversity, and inclusion in the community and beyond. You may have already noticed that we commissioned an artist to recognize Pride Month in the form of paintings on many of the stairs/steps around the Stuyvesant Town property. The artwork includes the universally recognized rainbow colors of the Pride movement along with renderings of individuals who were instrumental to awareness, legislation, and change. Know that our organization will also be participating in Disability Pride as many of our team are parents of children with disabilities; Pride’s message of inclusion, acceptance, and tolerance carries wide and far.
Last month I sent out a note in advance of the Memorial Day weekend recognizing those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country. Thank you to all who placed ribbons on the Oval and Peter Cooper Village fences in memory of those fallen heroes. In that note I referenced how Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village were developed in a public-private partnership between the City of New York and Metropolitan Life for returning WWII veterans who would be contributing to an already shortage of affordable housing. What I didn’t include was Metropolitan Life excluded people of color in this offering; the City and MetLife settled on developing another community in the Bronx for those not permitted to live in Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village. It was through the persistence of then-current residents to reverse this discriminatory policy. What did come indirectly from the efforts of those residents and directly from human rights organizations was federal anti-discriminatory housing laws. We think it important to celebrate Pride’s message here at Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village and will do so on June 20th in the form of a short parade and gathering on the Oval immediately following. Look for details in Thursday’s e-Newsletter.
It bears stating, StuyTown Property Services and beam Living are supporters of humans; regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability. In support of humans, we are constantly looking at ways to bring residents together, from the Community Flea Market to the weekly movies and music that will begin later this month. In today’s digital society, nothing replaces human interaction and we’ll continue to create opportunities to bring the community together.
Getting to know your neighbors strengthens the fabric of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village. It’s not about what was, it’s about what is and what can be. We are a community of humans, and StuyTown Property Services and beam Living are proud to serve each and every one of those humans.
Unity, Pride and Community.

Please keep in mind that, aside from the problems that Stuy Town is not addressing (for the big bucks), and our landlord's dealings with dictators, etc, there was NO commemoration of D-day, where many lives were lost in a fight against fascism. It was commemorated in Europe by many country leaders, and in the US, but nothing from Stuy Town.
That is why I call BS on Rick's Oprah-like letter.

>>To those wanting to know more about the suicide at 435 yesterday, it could be that Management (and T&V) are keeping quiet about it out of respect for the family of the victim.<<
I call BS on this, too. No one demands to know the details, but something???
This hush-hush works very well for Management.
This is from the CDC. Suicide is not always about mental health although that excuse is readily applied more often than not as an easy cover up to other reasons as legal issues, housing stress, etc. Maybe they did something that they don't want to face the "legal" consequences or maybe they have "housing stress" or "job" stress or any of the CDC reasons.
Only honesty, transparency will heal. Without honesty more will fall into the abyss. As the "greed is good" prison lesson goes from the movie Wall Street:
"Man looks in the abyss, there's nothing staring back at him. At that moment, man finds his character. And that is what keeps him out of the abyss."
CDC information:
"Suicide is a leading cause of death in the US. Suicide rates increased in nearly every state from 1999 through 2016. Mental health conditions are often seen as the cause of suicide, but suicide is rarely caused by any single factor. In fact, many people who die by suicide are not known to have a diagnosed mental health condition at the time of death. Other problems often contribute to suicide, such as those related to relationships, substance use, physical health, and job, money, legal, or housing stress."

Gee! Happy Chappy Vasquez is a real cruise director/happy club resort dynamo.
I hope his next job is on a very slow cruise ship to China and he stays there.
This is an apartment complex, you fucking assholes, not a resort, cruise ship or senior living facility. Keep your stupid ideas to yourself or take them elsewhere. I hope that no part of our exorbitant rent is going toward the salary for this idiot!
IF you Google Stuy Town suicides, you get details of the recent Stuy Town suicides for the past 2 years plus the recent First Ave L train suicide so I agree with the STR, I call BS on this cover up.
Management is PARTICULARLY happy if the poor decedent was rent stabilized.
Then they've hit a bonanza.
Put in some inflated price cheap renovations and, bingo, MARKET RATE!
Ghoulish beyond belief but, hey, it's all about the Benjamins.
Notwithstanding Rick Hyduk's pathetic missive emphasizing the poor soul who jumped was NOT a resident. As if that matters.
May the deceased rest in peace.
IF YOU ARE TROUBLED, PLEEEEEZ SEEK HELP!
Life is so precious.
This is a residential apartment complex in the most exciting city in the world. Why the hell do we need a fucking lifestyle director?!!
Go away Rick and your silly Boca team! We don't need you nor want your "offerings!" You should be embarrassed!
Why is Blackstone charging tenants several different fees when they move out? Our neighbors place was spotless. Helped him myself to clean and wipe all down. Yet they got hit with whopping fees for window cleaning, damaged caused by over 10 water leaks which were minor and more. How the fuck is this legal? Fight this shit and beware. You are going to be charged hundreds and thousands upon move out.
It sure doesn’t look like a resort in it’s filthy, grimy state. More like a slum.
"Yet they got hit with whopping fees for window cleaning, damaged caused by over 10 water leaks which were minor and more. How the fuck is this legal?"
It is NOT legal and I will not pay them for anything like window cleaning and water stains when I move out! They can hound me to the grave! When I moved in here the windows were filthy. I cleaned them myself. It is not the tenant's responsibility to clean the windows for the next tenant unless there was paint or something on the window. They can go fuck themselves to hell!
Unless one is TRULY rent-stabilized, there is no distinction between a "resident" and a "visitor" anymore. (There was a post quite a while ago about someone from SPS berating somebody who dared to complain about conditions here in person--was told that Stuy Town was NOT his "home," but only his "apartment in a very large complex.")
Do they go after all the filthy pigs who dump their stuff all over the place when they move in or out?
This really has become a SLUM. No two ways about it.
Why the hell did Blackstone put hotel people in charge of a huge RESIDENTIAL property. The whole dynamic of a hotel or resort is different from a residential apartment complex. It is just so totally ridiculous. I guess the idiots at Blackstone thought they could turn this place into a resort, but all they're succeeding in doing is turning a residential property into a total disaster. Maybe a handful of tenants like the "amenities" and "events," but you will find more outside people wondering in than actual tenants. I think that most of the "cheerleaders" on the TA facebook are connected with Management. Remember the cheerleader for the compost bins (which stink!)? She disappeared pretty soon after that started and her resume had something to do with advising managements. There are very few genuine tenants on the TA facebook and those that really are for real are the ones doing the complaining. I'm not saying the cheerleaders don't live here, but I think they are connected in some way with the goons who run this place.
Management is the lowest of the low, money grubbing scum.
And Cruise Director Rick Heydick is the captain of this sinking ship.
This is a residential community, NOT a Florida resort or Club Med.
Enough already.
Three mattresses in a pile outside 2 and 4 Oval ALL DAY.
The property looks like a garbage dump! And to think that it used to be called an Oasis and "A Park Runs Through It and a River Runs Round It"
Not anymore! Thanks, Rick. Was your resort in Boca as scruffy and badly run as this? Guess it must have been if you were in charge.
STR, please put up a nice picture. It's so depressing to scroll down all those shots of the filthy slum we live in.
"Unless one is TRULY rent-stabilized, there is no distinction between a "resident" and a "visitor" anymore. (There was a post quite a while ago about someone from SPS berating somebody who dared to complain about conditions here in person--was told that Stuy Town was NOT his "home," but only his "apartment in a very large complex.")"
In other words he got a shitty room in a shitty hotel and should not consider it home. How far we have sunk! Rick, fuck off. That is my message to you. Go away and take the low class cretins you employ with you. Most of us detest you because you have ruined our home and you lie all the time.
I doubt it. A housing development is very different from a luxury resort. They want luxury rent prices but can’t get families and professionals to rent here . Instead of providing good amenities and an attractive environment as well as stabilizing rents, they simply let the place go to pot with loads of dorms and transient apartments. Right now at 11 PM drunk students are screaming outside my window. Low life demo but profit by shoving four or five in an apartment.
No it looks nothing like a resort or Club Med. It looks like a seedy slum.
Not all of them. There are some long time tenants who adore Hayduk and his crap events.
Does anyone remember when way back when Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village always got the award for the best kept apartment complex in the City of New York? Also, Met Life always got the award for best landlord.
Wouldn't happen now. We'd probably get the award for the dirtiest, scruffiest dump in New York and "Management" would be booed and get rotten eggs thrown at them.
We haven't just sunk very low, we have plummeted to the depths.
Whaat fees did you get when you moved out?
love the sound and feel of our upstairs neighbors fixing and pumping items at 7 am above us. Mind ya, this goes on for 30 minutes daily. Ya know we have bicycle rooms, sidewalks, mega outdoor free space to do this... you POS
What the fuck.
We are out of here. Lease ending this month and fuck it all. St and Pcv should find tenants with class and manners. Whole lot of fuckin losers live here.
Actually they did get an award for something a couple of years ago. I was furious. Great PR man that Rick
Please Rick, when your business model is to convert rent stabilized apartments into market rate units, partition them up in ways never intended, and then lease them out short term to college students, you have NO FUCKING BUSINESS WHATSOEVER talking about “community”.
You’re either joking, or the most cynical bastard ever to drag on a pair of dress slacks.
Screaming, braying, drunk "bros" and "bro-ettes" outside the Terrace Level at 2:30AM.
Called Security - NOTHING.
When I went out this morning, scores of empty beer bottles on steps.
Real classy, huh?
Thanks Rick for turning this place into a transient dump.
Thanks Shameless Susan for doing zilch to represent the tenants.
Any photo ops lately, Susan?
We can hardly wait to see your smiling face in the Town & Village.
Is Vazquez Puerto Rican? Even if he isn't, what is Blackstone/Rick doing today in honor of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade? And shouldn't it be "Roberto" Vazquez?
More proof the pride parade is a massive PR stunt... having it start on 1st Ave. if it was truly a pride parade for tenants it would be IN the property. Having it on 1st makes it obvious they just want the press that will come along with it.
That ladies and gentlemen is not what we call celebrating the LGBTQ community, it’s exploiting it. But hey, the cheerleaders will still cheer.
PCVST residents don't realize it, but Blackstone welcomes every person, animal or thing entering into the PCVST complex for any reason to be "and their guests"
Unbelievable!
This afternoon I saw a woman, who I'm willing to bet IS NOT a Stuy Town resident, take off her toddler's diaper, whereupon the little one did his business ( #2 ).
The woman and her companions laughed and chortled like it was the funniest thing they had ever seen.
Pick up the goodies, clean up the mess?
Surely you jest.
Unreal!
Never ever rent a one bedroom here. You see they make them into these fake ass two bedrooms and you wonder ' gee, the guy living on top of us has heavy feet and walks non stop 24 / 7' odd? But no, there are now 4 sometimes 5 people living there thus you never stop having the pounding of heels and feet all day and every day. Plain shit IMHO sorry folks. Steer clear.

>>Is Vazquez Puerto Rican? Even if he isn't, what is Blackstone/Rick doing today in honor of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade? And shouldn't it be "Roberto" Vazquez?<<
For a moment, I wondered something similar. But I guess Puerto Ricans are not the rich renters Blackstone and Rick hope to get.
>>Actually they did get an award for something a couple of years ago. I was furious. Great PR man that Rick<<
I think you are referring to that "A" that is forever at the main leasing door. No one heard of the organization that granted this A, and people took Rick and Company to task, but the promo still stands and I am sure is used for prospective renters. More BS.
Real crap live here now. A lot of them are Airbnb and very short term residents. Many appear to be speaking foreign languages. I believe they have deals in which families can rent a month to six months for business or tourism. This is a true pig Stuy.
Anyone who has dealt with or worked for property management companies knows that the “company” that gave SPS that award is not taken seriously in the world of property management. It’s a known fact that they hand out this award to the company that pays them the most $$$$. It does look legit though to people who don’t know, and unfortunately that is most people.
The other thing is that pretty much all the property management awards are a farce. Is there really a “good” property management company? No. Are there a lot of really bad property management companies, but some are just a little better than the bottom of the barrel ones? Yes!
We have the very dregs of the bottom of the barrel.
My best advice, give this blog address to all and anyone in the city who needs a rental. Wish I'd known all this b4 signing leases. Peace out all.
Maybe Rick was a good resort manager, but he is a terrible apartment complex manager. I wish they would get someone who is experienced at being a good housing manager. I am embarrassed by the tacky, stupid "events" and gimmicks.
I am even more embarrassed by the junk and mattresses left lying all over the property. That is the absolute epitome of slum-living. It is disgusting and illegal. Somebody in the City gets kickbacks for doing nothing about it. Of course, we don't have a real mayor and the City Council is useless. Powers sees what goes on here, but turns a blind eye. So corrupt and sleazy.
Just heard that a helicopter has crashed into a building on 7th Avenue. And our fucking asshole Councilman is ok with them flying over Stytown.

I am against helicopters over Stuy Town. I hear them all the time now. Even past 9pm! Peace and quiet, my ass!
They don’t want a good manager. They are purposely running this place into the ground with these student and transient rentals. They like Rick obviously and just want the money
Still nothing on the suicide at 435. They try to pretend some things don't happen.
The helicopters I can deal with.
It's the jerks above me with the clackety-clack high heels I can't stomach.
No carpeting.
Blaring music.
Zero consideration for their neighbors.
Complaints to Management got me nowhere.
Shameless Susan's advice, "Just Call Rick"...hahaha...what a joke.
Rick is useless. So is the TA. Just a bunch of grifters.
How do these salsa and chips events work? Are they inside the building or outside? Either way, it is going to really disturb the people who live on the Main Level. Such assholes!
Two helicopter accidents in last month. We've been lucky so far, only the 1 death. That won't continue. I have been pointing out the corruption that allows this to happen for over a year now. I have questioned, DeBlasio, the EDC, Powers, CB6, NYPD, Hoylman, Brewer plus about the safety and noise issues and not 1 has responded except Powers and he didn't answer inquiries just directed me to CB6 and sent me some info on a land use class...WTF??
I guess making sure the wealthy can get to their Hamptons place quickly is worth any number of other folks lives. At least, our politicians don't hide their priorities, and some keep voting for them. Pathetic!
"The helicopters I can deal with."
How about when one crashes into your building or drops down on your head while you walk out of your apartment? This is a big safety issue, plus a mental health issue with all the noise. Yet, big bribes always win the day in NY so helicopters it is.
Just once, instead of having to read about dog days, concerts and pride parades in management ‘s brochure every month, I would like to read something important. Like banning trash and mattresses on the loops or about enforcing noise rules. Or clamping down on Airbnb and pot smoking. Their cheery, phones brochures are not even worth reading.
I don't know how this idiot, Rick, can tout outside events involving food when there are filthy mattresses strewn all over the property. It's like inviting somebody to have a meal in a dirty toilet.
Ridiculous quest there. What occurred after? Good luck!

Same story: nothing is done. And "our" TA?
>>This is a big safety issue, plus a mental health issue with all the noise. Yet, big bribes always win the day in NY so helicopters it is.<<
Too bad a local politician is not fighting for us. Fighting, I said. Which is different than a photo op or "yes-ing" tenants....

I've seen Rick, but never without the Blackstone suits, and never walking around the property by himself to check issues. Most of the time, I assume, he's in the ST office and figuring the greatest profit for Blackstone. I'm also not talking about the Thursday charade of "meeting" tenants at that tent placed at Oval. That meeting is a joke, and by now, I try to avoid it for the good of my blood pressure.

In this dump you take your chances because it could be a helicopter that drops on your head or someone committing suicide by jumping from a roof.

I so TOTALLY agree!
The Tenants Association at best is a worthless tool of Management.
At worst, they are criminal. Where is the $100,000 political slush fund?
How about opening the books? Exactly how many members are there in this ersatz "organization"?
Speak up, Shameless Susan.
We can't hear you.
He does meet with tenants and take down notes but as far as I can see nothing is done. They listen but do not make changes.
***1975 NYC GARBAGE STRIKE***
Other than high fossil fuel use, high atmospheric contamination, intense maintenance support contamination, and high build contamination, the biggest environmental damage helicopters cause is noise.
NOISE and ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
We simply don’t need helicopters in NYC. The only reason would be by emergency personnel .....period. Wealthy assholes who are above us ( literally and figuratively) are lazy self centered pigs. They talk out of both sides of their mouths. They pollute and on the other hand the give to environmental organizations.
Sounds like our duplicitous landlords and their TA.....fake and two faced scumbags.
Hopefully a helicopter does t fall on us. They aren’t going to stop it
I wonder how many more suicides have occurred in PCVST that T&V have been told not to report? Sabina is definitely under the iron fascist fist of Blackstone.
The Security force ("Security" used with apologies) is becoming smaller and less active. It is not politic to express what it seems to me has become of Security leadership, because I think leadership would be jobless if they did not behave as they do.
And mentioning names of any of the remaining (and new) officers whom I have observed NEVER looking up from their phones as they roam the grounds is likewise a bad idea.
For some months now, there is NO ONE sitting behind the reception desk much of the time. The second "civilian" has not been here for some time, and my speculations as to why she's gone are not pleasant. Her spot was never filled. It is like a ghost town in the Security office most of the time. There have long been too few Security officers. And years ago the neutering and silencing of them began.
Yet I see it worsening alarmingly.
Is anyone interested in forming our own little Auxiliary Security Force to deal with the human garbage who create hell for us?
Just as a side note: our last COO, Chief Operating Officer, who had worked for another real estate plague, Taconic Investment Partners, had an exceedingly short stay here, and has left a while back. Again, speculation yields gloomy thoughts.
Finally: Blackstone is getting into bed with Amazon concerning "real estate" - warehouses for Amazon.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/blackstone-wants-to-benefit-from-the-amazon-effect-11559589730
https://pitchbook.com/news/articles/blackstone-strikes-187b-pact-to-get-into-business-with-amazon
The greed is breathtaking. And ominous.
And if all of that weren't enough: Amazon has been either already invading hotel rooms with Alexa, or planning to, along with ambitions to partner with builders of homes and "real estate developers"/destroyers to make sure Alexa listens to you from the moment you set foot in your new home.
Brave new world? Distressing in the extreme, I'd say.
Finally, there's a mention in T&V about the suicide. They lie when they say he wasn't a resident.
Hoylman probably USES a helicopter to get to the Hamptons, too. No self-respecting politician actually lives in their district F/T. And all politicians are--or soon become--wealthy.
What's with these "Salsa and Chips" events at individual buildings, starting at 6:30 PM? Don't these fucktards know that most of us are just getting home from work; making dinner and just wanting to watch the evening news and relax after a hard day at the office/whatever?
Don't they also realize that so many of us are disturbed so much by their noisy, selfish, asshole neighbors that we DO NOT want to eat and drink with them? Many of us who are subjected to noisy, immature scum neighbors wish them in hell and have no desire to socialize with them. If "management" wants to improve relationships between neighbors it should start enforcing the rules concerning carpets, etc.
Blackstone is the scum of the earth as a landlord and this stupid, sleazy Hayduk guy is their front man. Don't you know how much we despise you Rick? Are you really that dumb?
Hey! I realize this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask.
Does operating a well-established website such as yours require a lot of work?
I am completely new to running a blog however I do write in my diary everyday.
I'd like to start a blog so I can share my own experience
and thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners.
Appreciate it!
Hi there, I read your blogs like every week. Your humoristic style
is witty, keep up the good work!
Yes, this salsa and chips thing is crap. I have no desire to socialize with the students and low lifes in my building. I have my own friends and people in the building I talk to. Also this pride parade is stupid. NYC has a major one.Their ideas get stupider and stupider. Other buildings have a Christmas and maybe Fourth of July party. This place bombards is with crap.
